- Each post requires a PhD in a specified area as well as prerequisite degree qualifications that vary by post code. Consult the advertisement for the exact combination required for the role you are considering.
- The notice gives a maximum age of 35 for post codes 1–6, subject to applicable upper-age relaxations.
- The positions are in Pay Matrix Level 11, and the notice states there is no application fee.
- Candidates with foreign university degrees must produce an Association of Indian Universities equivalency certificate at interview.
- The notice says candidates who pursued the relevant professional course through Open and Distance Learning are not eligible for consideration. Review the advertisement for all conditions.
Are Medical Officer and Assistant posts included?
No. Medical Officer-SD/SC and Assistant (Rajbhasha) appear in a distinct HSFC recruitment notice, HSFC:01:RMT:2024. That notice listed October 9, 2024 as its application deadline—not a 2026 opening. It also included Scientist/Engineer-SC, Technical Assistant/Scientific Assistant, Technician-B/Draughtsman-B and other posts. The official listing includes later selection and result material for that cycle.

The two notices are separate recruitment cycles. The older MO and Assistant roles should not be treated as part of the 2026 Scientist/Engineer-SD application.
How were candidates selected for the 2026 posts?
The notice says applications would first be screened to shortlist candidates for interview. It states: “The final selection will be based on performance of candidates in the interview only.” The six-vacancy figure is provisional and may change, according to the advertisement.

What is the HSFC PhD Live Register?
The HSFC homepage also links to “ISRO’S LIVE REGISTRATION FOR PhD SCHOLARS TO THE POST OF SCIENTIST/ENGINEER-SD.” This is a separate route from the dated HSFC:01:RMT:2026 application window. Its presence does not show that the August 30, 2026 deadline was extended or that the 2026 recruitment is accepting applications.
