A $169 price for a new DualSense Edge would be $30.99 below Sony’s original $199.99 US recommended retail price—but that offer was not verified as live on October 8, 2026. Price trackers showed the controller near $199 in late September and early October, so check the seller, condition and checkout price before treating $169 as a current deal or a new low.
Is the DualSense Edge $169 right now?
The available price records do not confirm a live $169 offer for a new controller. Basketprice reported an Amazon price of $199 on October 1, 2026; Pricehistory.app listed $198.99 on a page dated September 30, 2026. These are dated third-party observations, not confirmation of today’s retailer price.
Pricehistory.app’s tracked history does show $159.99 on November 13, 2025, but that historical observation means $169 cannot be described as the all-time low for a new unit based on that record. Separately, PSPrices recorded $169 on January 13, 2026, for a certified refurbished controller—not a new one. Compare condition as well as price.
What does $169 mean against the original price?
Sony announced a US recommended retail price of $199.99. At $169, the controller would cost $30.99 less than that original figure, about 15.5% off. Sony’s launch announcement also listed regional RRPs of ¥29,980 including tax, €239.99 and £209.99; those are launch prices, not current local offers. The $169 claim should therefore be judged against a verified new-product listing, not just the headline number.

- Ultra Customizable Controls
- Mappable Back Buttons
- DualSense Wireless Controller Features Built In
- Replaceable Stick Modules and Caps
What you get with the DualSense Edge
The Edge is Sony’s customizable PS5 controller. Its key distinction is the ability to remap controls, adjust stick sensitivity and trigger settings, and save or switch control profiles. It retains DualSense haptic feedback and adaptive triggers in games that support those features.
Included in the box
- DualSense Edge controller and braided USB cable
- Two standard stick caps, two high dome caps and two low dome caps
- Two half-dome back buttons and two lever back buttons
- Connector housing and carrying case
Sony says the controller can charge over USB while stored in its case. Replacement stick modules are sold separately; Sony’s launch announcement gave them an original US RRP of $19.99, but that does not establish their current price or availability.

- Aim and move with precision by swapping in fresh stick modules* so you’re always playing with equipment that’s in great shape. Plus, three types of changeable stick caps help you stay comfortable in-game without sacrificing grip or stability.
- Mappable back buttons The DualSense Edge wireless controller’s two swappable sets of back buttons can be configured to any other button input, so you’ve always got game-changing actions and essential controls at your fingertips.
- Adjustable trigger lengths Manually set the travel distance of your left and right triggers for an optimal experience with whatever you’re playing. Fast-paced FPS? Set a shorter travel distance to shoot faster on the field. Competitive racer? Set a longer travel distance for precise throttle control on the track.
- Remappable buttons Remap or even deactivate specific button inputs, so you can create a completely personalized control setup that’s ideal for the game at hand.
- Quick-swap control profiles Once you’ve found your ideal control settings, you can save them to unique profiles and swap between them on-the-fly, so your favourite configurations are always ready when you are.
Is it worth buying at $169?
At a verified $169 for a new unit, the lower price would make the Edge more attractive, especially for players who will use its remapping, adjustable sticks and triggers, profiles or back buttons. If you mainly want a standard PS5 controller and do not need those adjustments, the extra customization may not justify the purchase for you. Decide based on the controls you will actually use, and account for the separately sold stick modules if replacement parts matter to your budget.
Before paying, verify the listing’s condition, seller, stock, shipping cost and final checkout total. A refurbished listing is not directly comparable with a new one, and a tracker’s past price is not a promise that a retailer will honor it now.

Can you use it on PC?
Sony says the controller connects to a Windows PC by USB or Bluetooth. The PlayStation Accessories app for Windows can update firmware and edit profiles. Haptics and adaptive triggers on PC may require a USB connection and game support; the controller’s function buttons can switch among profiles stored on the controller. Sony also lists its DualSense charging station as compatible.
