Foxtrot has announced plans for two Chicago stores, targeting summer 2027: 2600 N Clark Street in Lincoln Park and 917 Belmont Avenue at the Belmora project in Lakeview. Those are planned locations, not open stores, and the target timing could change. The latest report naming the addresses was published by What Now Chicago on August 26, 2026.

The report did not provide further project details. Foxtrot has not confirmed that either store has opened, and announced schedules can change. Check with Foxtrot or the development projects for an update before making a trip.
What is Foxtrot?
Foxtrot combines a café with a curated neighborhood market: shoppers can expect café food and drinks alongside grocery staples, wine, and local goods. Its original model also included app-based pickup and delivery, according to a 2021 CIM and Golub announcement. That historical description does not establish whether app ordering or delivery is currently available.
The menu reported at the September 2024 reopening included breakfast tacos, coffee, panini, salads, bowls, cookies, and baked goods. A 2026 report named Big Fat Cookie, Marz, and Gemma Foods among brands carried at Foxtrot’s Gold Coast store; that is not a guarantee that every store carries them or a complete current product list. Why is Foxtrot returning after it closed?
Foxtrot’s former parent company, Outfox Hospitality, closed 33 stores in April 2024, according to Axios Chicago. The brand began reopening in Chicago in September 2024 under the name Foxtrot Café & Market, with a stronger café emphasis. At the time, chairman Mike LaVitola described the updated food and coffee program as a return to the company’s founding focus on ingredients and purveyors, as reported by NACS.
In March 2025, Bisnow counted eight reopened stores—six in Chicago and two in Dallas—and characterized the operation as a smaller, more measured return. That is a dated snapshot, not a current store count. The 2026 announcement of two planned Chicago sites is evidence of further expansion plans, but not proof that the earlier footprint or pace of growth has returned.

Does the expansion mean Foxtrot has raised new capital?
The available report on the Clark and Belmont locations does not verify a new funding round connected to those plans. Bisnow’s March 2025 article discusses historic financing, but that does not establish that Foxtrot is currently flush with new capital. The headline phrase “flush with new capital” should therefore not be treated as a confirmed explanation for the announced stores.
