Is Indian Navy SSC IT registration still open?
No—not under the January 2026 course notice. Its application period ran from 2 to 17 August 2025, and that deadline has passed. The Navy homepage reviewed on 8 October 2026 listed current and recently closed recruitment notices, but no open SSC (IT)-specific window. The sources reviewed do not establish a newer SSC (IT) deadline.
Do not submit an application based on the expired notice. A future recruitment notice will set its own application dates and requirements.
What the January 2026 notice covered
The Indian Navy invited unmarried eligible men and women to apply for SSC in Information Technology, Executive Branch, for a course commencing in January 2026 at the Indian Naval Academy, Ezhimala, Kerala. The notice listed 15 tentative vacancies, subject to service requirements. These details apply only to that course.

Eligibility stated in that notice
- Age: Candidates had to be born from 2 January 2001 through 1 July 2006, inclusive.
- English marks: At least 60% in English in Class X or XII.
- Qualifying degree: At least 60% overall in one of the specified MSc, BE, B Tech or M Tech qualifications in computing and related fields, or an MCA with BCA or BSc in Computer Science or Information Technology.
These are historical criteria, not confirmation of eligibility for a future course. Check the next official notice for its age range, accepted degrees and marks requirements.
Selection and service terms stated in that notice
Shortlisting was based on normalized qualifying-degree marks, followed by an SSB interview. For BE/B Tech applicants, marks through the fifth semester were considered for shortlisting. For completed postgraduate degrees, marks from all semesters were considered; final-year postgraduate applicants were assessed through the pre-final year. Final merit depended on SSB marks, medical fitness, verification and available vacancies.
The notice described a 10-year commission, with possible extensions of two years at a time up to 14 years, subject to service requirements, performance, medical eligibility and willingness.

The January 2026 notice instructed candidates to register and fill in the application on the Indian Navy website when the window opened. For that application, it advised preparing identity and contact details, Aadhaar, relevant marksheets, date-of-birth proof, any required CGPA conversion formula, an NCC ‘C’ certificate if applicable, and a recent passport-size photograph. It warned that unreadable scans could lead to rejection and that submitted applications could not be amended. Treat these as instructions for that notice; a later notice may differ.
