The India Post GDS sixth merit list in this headline is List VI for the July 2024 GDS Online Engagement Schedule, not a new 2026 release. The official archive provides a separate supplementary List VI PDF for each postal circle. Open the official July 2024 schedule page, find your circle, and select its “Supplimentary List -VI” link.
Where to find the India Post GDS List VI PDF
Use the official India Post GDS portal and open the archived July 2024 schedule page. Choose the postal circle linked to your application, then open that circle’s “Supplimentary List -VI” PDF. The official archive has circle-specific files, not one PDF containing every shortlisted candidate.

The old portal is marked inactive and directs visitors to a new India Post site, but its archived schedule page remains a route to the historical July 2024 result links. A general portal homepage is an official starting point, not a direct link to a particular circle’s downloadable result.
How to check your name or registration number
- Confirm that you are checking the July 2024 GDS schedule and the postal circle associated with your application.
- Open that circle’s supplementary List VI PDF from the official schedule archive.
- Use the PDF viewer’s search function to look for your name or registration number.
- Check the full row and the document-verification division. The official Andhra Pradesh List VI PDF, for example, includes division, office, post name, community, registration number, marks percentage and document-verification division.
A search match is not enough by itself: make sure the circle and registration details in the row match your application.
What a List VI shortlist means
A shortlisted candidate must follow the document-verification instructions in the relevant circle’s PDF. In the inspected Andhra Pradesh List VI PDF, candidates were told to report to the Divisional Head named against their entries with original documents and two sets of self-attested photocopies. That PDF set a deadline of 14 January 2025, which has passed; it is not a current deadline for candidates now.
Those details are specific to the Andhra Pradesh PDF. If you are acting on a result or have a question now, check the instructions issued by your own circle through official India Post channels.
Independent reader supportYour contribution helps us test, update, and keep practical guides available for everyone.Merit list and application status are different
The merit PDF shows shortlisted candidates. For submitted application status, the official FAQ says candidates can log in with their registration number. The FAQ also explains that a post for which a candidate gave no preference is treated as not opted for and is not considered for that candidate.
Watch for fraudulent payment requests
The Department of Posts’ official disclaimer says: “Department of Posts does not make any phone calls/SMS to the candidates for depositing any money.” Use official channels for result and verification information, and do not pay someone claiming that a payment will secure a shortlist or appointment.
