What happened in the 2024 recruitment?
IFSCA invited applications from Indian citizens for Officer Grade A (Assistant Manager) posts in its General and Legal streams. The initial notification listed an application window from 28 March to 21 April 2024, but a corrigendum extended the final deadline to 12 July 2024. The 2024 cycle has since concluded.

These dates are from IFSCA’s 2024 recruitment notification, deadline corrigendum, examination-date notice and selected-candidates notice.
How many posts were advertised?
IFSCA advertised 10 posts in 2024: eight in the General Stream and two in the Legal Stream. The category table listed three unreserved, three OBC, one SC, one ST and two EWS vacancies, with horizontal reservation details for persons with benchmark disabilities (PwBD). IFSCA reserved the right to vary the number of vacancies or leave posts unfilled. The figures describe that recruitment only; they do not indicate vacancies in a later cycle.

What were the pay and posting terms?
The 2024 notice gave a basic-pay scale of ₹44,500–89,150 and estimated total monthly emoluments at approximately ₹1,43,000 at the minimum of the scale, including the allowances it listed. These are the amounts stated in the 2024 notice, not a guarantee of current pay or future-cycle compensation. It also said recruits could be posted or transferred to IFSCA offices in India or abroad.
Who was eligible to apply?
The 2024 notice was limited to Indian citizens and allowed each candidate to apply for one stream. The qualifications differed by stream:
General Stream
The notification listed several education routes: a master’s degree with specialization in Statistics, Economics, Commerce, Business Administration (Finance) or Econometrics; specified bachelor’s- or master’s-level qualifications in IT or computer science; a commerce bachelor’s degree with appearance in CA, CFA, CS or ICWA; or a bachelor’s degree in law or another discipline from a recognized university. A recognized postgraduate diploma could meet a master’s requirement if the Government of India recognized it as equivalent.

Legal Stream
The Legal Stream required a bachelor’s degree in law from a recognized university or institute.
Reservation and qualification documents
The 19 June 2024 corrigendum set certificate requirements for reservation or relaxation claims. EWS candidates needed the prescribed FY 2024–25 Income and Asset Certificate, issued on or after 1 April 2024 and before interview-stage document verification. OBC (NCL) certificates had to be issued on or after 1 April 2024 and before interview document verification. Candidates awaiting results of a qualifying examination could take part in the process, but anyone called for interview had to provide proof of passing by the interview date. These were cycle-specific conditions; a future applicant must follow the notice and corrigenda for that cycle.
What was the selection process and exam pattern?
The selection process had three phases: Phase I online screening, Phase II online examination and Phase III interview. The notice described two papers in each online phase, each worth 100 marks.

Phase I: screening
- Paper 1: Financial-sector general awareness, English, quantitative aptitude and reasoning.
- Paper 2: General-stream subjects or the Legal-stream specialist subject.
The notice set minimum cutoffs for papers and an aggregate Phase I cutoff. Phase I marks were used for shortlisting and were not counted toward final selection.
Phase II: online examination
Phase II also consisted of two 100-mark papers. The applicable subject content depended on the stream. IFSCA’s later examination-date notice updated the timetable that had initially been tentative.

Candidates who progressed through the examination stages were considered for interview. IFSCA held the 2024 interviews from 16 to 18 December and published selected candidates’ roll numbers on 23 December 2024.

General Stream
The General-stream Paper 2 syllabus included general knowledge and current events; economic and social development; commerce; accountancy; management; finance and costing; the Indian and global economy; and government financial-sector schemes.
Legal Stream
Legal candidates had a stream-specific specialist paper. The applicable law syllabus should be checked in the official notice rather than inferred from the General-stream subjects.
For a future comparable exam, preparation materials should match the candidate’s stream and the syllabus in the current notice. Useful comparison points include subject coverage, practice-question quality, how recently the material was updated and its format; no particular book or course is endorsed here.

Where should candidates check for future IFSCA vacancies?
Use the official IFSCA Career archive to check for later recruitment announcements and updates. It contains historical 2024 notices and results as well as any subsequent postings. The old registration notice is an archive record, not an application route that remains open.
How to avoid recruitment scams
IFSCA’s 2024 notification warned: “Applicants desirous of applying for the job at IFSCA are hereby cautioned not to fall prey to any unscrupulous elements who may try to deceive candidates/public by false promises of securing jobs in IFSCA.” The notice asked people who encounter such offers to report them to [email protected] with details. Treat claims of guaranteed selection or paid access to a job as a warning sign, and confirm recruitment information through IFSCA’s official channels.
