Before buying Stellantis, identify the listing you would trade, read the company’s latest interim report, and judge reported profit, cash generation and financial position separately. The key question is whether the improvement reported for the six months ended June 30, 2026 can turn into sustained cash generation and whether Stellantis can deliver its new management targets. The figures and plan below are company-reported; they are not a valuation or a buy recommendation.

1. Confirm which Stellantis shares you would buy

Stellantis N.V. common shares trade under different tickers depending on the exchange: STLA on the New York Stock Exchange, STLAM on Euronext Milan and STLAP on Euronext Paris. The European share ISIN is NL00150001Q9. Check the exchange, ticker and trading currency in your brokerage account before comparing a quoted share price or placing an order.

The listing matters because a share price in dollars is not directly comparable with one in euros without accounting for currency. A share price alone also cannot tell you whether the stock is attractively valued; that requires a dated price and consistent assumptions about earnings, cash flow and the company’s capital structure.

2. Start with the latest filing, not an older headline

As of October 4, 2026, the latest financial period covered here is the six months ended June 30, 2026. Stellantis’ investor calendar schedules its third-quarter 2026 results for October 28, 2026, so those results are not included. Begin with the 2026 Interim Report, then use the 2025 Annual Report and Form 20-F for full-year context and risk disclosures. The company’s financial reports page is the place to locate the interim report and annual filing.

In the interim report, review the income statement, cash flow statement, industrial liquidity and financial position, segment discussion, reconciliations for adjusted measures, and risk factors. Use the FaSTLAne 2030 strategy presentation as management’s account of its plans—not as evidence that the goals have already been achieved.

3. Separate statutory profit from adjusted performance and cash flow

Keep three measures distinct when you build a history:

  • IFRS net profit or loss: the statutory bottom-line result.
  • Adjusted operating income (AOI): Stellantis’ non-GAAP operating measure. It excludes specified unusual operating items, net financial expense and tax.
  • Industrial free cash flow (IFCF): the company’s non-GAAP measure of industrial cash generation after specified investments and adjustments.

Stellantis cautions that its adjusted measures should not replace IFRS measures and may not be comparable with similarly titled measures used by other companies. Read the definitions and reconciliations in the relevant report, and compare like measures over like periods. In particular, a positive adjusted operating result does not establish that the company generated positive industrial free cash flow.

4. Establish the recent financial baseline

The figures below are issuer-reported. Stellantis marked its full-year 2025 results unaudited in its February 26, 2026 results release.

Measure FY 2025 Six months ended June 30, 2026
Net revenues €153.5 billion; down 2% for the year €81.614 billion
IFRS net result €22.3 billion net loss €670 million net profit
Adjusted operating income (loss) €842 million adjusted operating loss €1.733 billion adjusted operating income
Industrial free cash flow Negative €4.5 billion Negative €921 million

The year-on-year and half-year figures describe different reporting periods, so do not treat the H1 2026 amounts as a full-year result or infer a full-year run rate from them. The interim figures show a return to reported net profit and positive AOI for the half, while IFCF remained negative.

Read the 2025 charges rather than writing them off

Stellantis attributed the FY2025 net loss principally to €25.4 billion in unusual charges. The company’s February 2026 release also said about €22.2 billion of charges were excluded from AOI in the second half of 2025, including around €6.5 billion expected to be paid in cash over four years. These are different scopes and periods: the H2 amount is not the same as the full-year total. The charges included product-plan and EV supply-chain resets, warranty estimate changes and restructuring. An adjustment may help explain a reported result, but it is not automatically economically immaterial—especially when some costs are expected to use cash.

CEO Antonio Filosa characterized the year in the February 26, 2026 results release: “Our 2025 full year results reflect the cost of over-estimating the pace of the energy transition and of the need to reset our business around our customers’ freedom to choose from the full range of electric, hybrid and internal combustion technologies.” Treat this as management’s explanation, then check subsequent filings for evidence of the reset’s costs and results.

5. Test liquidity against cash generation and the balance sheet

Industrial available liquidity and industrial net financial position are related context, not interchangeable measures. At June 30, 2026, Stellantis reported €44.145 billion of industrial available liquidity and an industrial net financial position of €10.035 billion. At December 31, 2025, those measures were €45.711 billion and €6.694 billion, respectively. The company defines industrial net financial position to exclude balances of financial-services entities, so do not read it as a complete group-wide picture of every financing exposure.

The company’s FY2025 results release reported €46 billion in industrial available liquidity at year-end 2025; the interim report gives the more precise December comparison above. Read liquidity alongside IFCF, debt and the report’s explanations of financial-services activities and capital structure. Stellantis issued hybrid perpetual notes in three tranches in March 2026, another reason to consult the filing rather than infer resilience from one liquidity number.

6. Turn FaSTLAne 2030 into measurable tests

FaSTLAne 2030, presented in May 2026, is the basis of management’s forward plan. Its headline figures are targets, not achieved outcomes:

Management target What to check in later reports
Positive industrial free cash flow in 2027 Whether IFCF turns positive and remains supported by operating cash generation rather than a one-off change.
€6 billion annual cost reductions by 2028 versus 2025 How much of the stated reduction has been delivered, how the company defines it, and whether quality, investment or volumes are affected.
€190 billion revenue and a 7% AOI margin in 2030 Revenue development, operating margin and the contributions from volume, pricing, mix, regions and cost reductions.

The plan emphasizes choices across brands, platforms, powertrains and technology, partnerships, manufacturing footprint, execution and regional empowerment. To assess progress, track product launch cadence, product mix, quality, capacity use, regional sales and margins, and cash conversion. Management warns that forward-looking statements involve risks and actual results may differ materially; treat each target accordingly.

7. Map company-disclosed risks to the results they could affect

Stellantis’ 2025 annual filing and 2026 interim report identify risks that can influence demand, costs, investment needs and cash generation. They are disclosed risks, not predictions that any particular event will occur.

  • Demand and competition: cyclical demand, competitive pressure and uncertainty in electrified-vehicle demand forecasting can affect volumes, pricing and product mix.
  • Trade, supply and costs: tariffs, currency and interest-rate changes, raw-material availability and supply interruptions can alter production costs, delivery schedules and financing conditions.
  • Transition and regulation: EV economics, changing rules and incentives, and divergent policies across markets can affect investment returns. The annual filing says returns on electrification investment remain uncertain.
  • Product and operations: warranty estimates, product liability and quality issues can lead to costs or affect customer confidence; cybersecurity is also a disclosed risk.
  • Funding: access to financing and funding availability matter when the business needs to finance operations and planned investment.

For each risk, ask which line could move: unit sales, price, costs, capital expenditure, working capital, adjusted operating performance or IFCF. That makes the risk section useful to an investment decision rather than a list to skim.

8. Update the analysis before making a decision

  1. After October 28, 2026: read the scheduled Q3 results and update your figures with the newest reported period. Check whether cash flow, financial position and management’s execution indicators have changed.
  2. Compare consistently: maintain a history of revenues, volume and regional mix; IFRS results and AOI; IFCF and capital expenditure; liquidity, debt and financial-services exposure; launch and quality performance; regional powertrain mix; and dividends or other capital returns.
  3. Compare peers only on matched definitions: use equivalent periods, currency treatment and metric definitions. Stellantis’ adjusted measures may not match peers’ measures, and the figures above do not establish a peer ranking.
  4. Assess valuation with a dated price: check a live share price and state its date, exchange and currency. Use consistent assumptions for earnings or cash flow and account for the capital structure; the figures in this article do not establish a current valuation or recommendation.

A disciplined decision should distinguish what Stellantis has reported, what management says it intends to deliver, and what remains uncertain. Revisit those three categories when new results arrive.
