What salary was Jesse Lingard reported to earn at FC Seoul?
KBS World reported on 11 July 2025 that Lingard was believed to earn 1.82 billion South Korean won per year on a two-year contract. The report came in the context of a dispute over an agent fee and a reported court order provisionally seizing his salary account. It describes a reported estimate, not a salary figure confirmed by FC Seoul.
When FC Seoul announced Lingard’s signing on 8 February 2024, Yonhap reported that the club had not disclosed the financial terms. Yonhap also reported that Lingard declined to give specific figures at his press conference. No authoritative public disclosure establishes his bonuses or total compensation, so the annual estimate should not be treated as a complete account of his earnings.
What happened between Lingard and Coventry City?
In December 2025, TEAMtalk reported that Lingard had made himself available to Coventry City and that the club rejected the chance to sign him. The report described Coventry as a Championship promotion contender. In February 2026, ChosunBiz also included Coventry among Championship clubs reported to have rejected Lingard.

Those reports do not establish a Coventry agreement, a club endorsement, or a Premier League deal. The claim that Coventry backed Lingard to strike a Premier League deal is not supported by the reported sequence: the coverage describes an approach or availability that Coventry declined.
When did Lingard leave FC Seoul?
FC Seoul announced on 5 December 2025 that Lingard would leave after two seasons. The club said it had sought to exercise an option for a third year, but Lingard wanted to take his talent to another league. Yonhap quoted the club as saying: “We had in-depth talks with Lingard, trying to persuade him to stay with us for a little longer, but in the end, we decided to grant him his wish.”
