Points generally expire 36 months after they are earned, at the end of the expiration month.
What Samsung Rewards points are worth in the U.S.
Samsung’s U.S. support FAQ states that one point is worth $0.005 on Samsung.com or in the Shop Samsung App. At that rate, the arithmetic is:

These figures are a calculation from Samsung’s published rate, not a guaranteed cash equivalent. Samsung says the value may change, and its U.S. terms say Rewards points cannot be exchanged for cash. Treat them as a discount for eligible Samsung purchases, not as money you can withdraw or spend elsewhere. See Samsung’s Rewards FAQ and U.S. program terms.
Where you can use points—and what they cannot cover
Logged-in members can apply points to all or part of qualified products at Samsung.com or in the Shop Samsung App. Under the U.S. terms, points cannot pay for shipping, taxes, or other fees. They also cannot reduce the purchase price when Samsung Financing is selected.

Samsung describes other earning or redemption opportunities through some Samsung apps and partner promotions. Its Rewards page names Galaxy Store, Art Store, Samsung Food+, and SmartThings, but availability and terms can differ by service and location. Check the offer and checkout for the particular service rather than assuming points are interchangeable everywhere.
How to check your balance and redeem points
- Sign in to your Samsung account on Samsung.com, Samsung Members, or the Shop Samsung App.
- Open My Account and select My Rewards or the account’s Rewards activity/transaction history. In the app, check the account or Rewards area; labels can change.
- Review your balance, activity, and any expiration information shown. Samsung’s order-help page also describes checking Rewards through account tools: Samsung Rewards order help.
- For an eligible Samsung.com or Shop Samsung App purchase, sign in and check the product page or checkout for the current points offer and redemption option. Apply points to the qualified product portion of the order.
Points from a qualifying purchase may not appear right away. Samsung’s terms say issuance can take up to 60 days, depending on transaction confirmation and applicable return or chargeback periods, as well as its calendar-month processing interval. The terms calculate purchase points from the final checkout purchase price after discounts, excluding shipping, taxes, and other fees.

If an order is cancelled or returned, Samsung’s FAQ says redeemed points are reversed after a returned item is received and inspected, or within a few days after a cancellation is processed.
When Samsung Rewards points expire
Under Samsung Electronics America’s U.S. terms, points expire at the end of the calendar month 36 months after they were earned. For example, a point lot earned on any day in April 2026 would, under that rule, expire at the end of April 2029. Samsung says it deducts the oldest points first when a member redeems.

Check your Rewards transaction history for your own point lots and expiration status; do not assume your whole balance has one expiration date. The terms were updated December 6, 2024. The expiration rule described here is U.S.-specific; Samsung notes that country stores and local program rules differ.
How to get more practical value from your points
- Check your balance and expiration dates before planning a purchase, so older points do not go unused.
- Before redeeming, compare the discount available at checkout with the value of keeping points for a later eligible Samsung purchase.
- Use points on a purchase you already planned, rather than spending extra solely to earn points or reach a tier.
- Verify eligibility, the current rate, and the redemption option on the product page or checkout; Samsung reserves the ability to change program rules.
- Remember that Samsung applies the oldest points first when you redeem, so you generally do not need to select an expiring lot manually.
Why Samsung’s published tier details need a careful check
Samsung’s U.S. pages do not present a consistent set of tier thresholds and earning rates. Its FAQ lists Gold after 500 points and Platinum after 2,500 points, with stated “back” rates of 0.5%, 1%, and 1.5%. The Samsung Rewards landing page instead displays $500 spend for Gold and $1,000 for Platinum, rates of $1, $2, and $3 per dollar for Silver through Platinum, and a $149.99 annual VIP option with six points per dollar. The same landing page’s explanatory text gives a different Platinum threshold of $1,500 in a 12-month period.

Those descriptions conflict, including within Samsung’s own landing page, so they should not be combined into a single tier calculation. Check the tier and offer terms displayed in your logged-in account and for the specific purchase before deciding that extra spending is worthwhile.
