Scroll reported on May 27, 2021, that Visvesvaraya Technological University (VTU) had announced results for examinations held in January, February and March 2021. The release covered BE and BTech semesters 5 and 6, and MTech semesters 1, 2 and 4. The date in the headline refers to the exam period, not the announcement date. Scroll’s May 27 report directed candidates from all regions to the VTU results website.
Which VTU results were included?
The May 27, 2021 announcement covered these programmes and semesters:
- BE and BTech: semesters 5 and 6.
- MTech: semesters 1, 2 and 4.
The examinations were held across January, February and March 2021. This release should not be confused with a separate announcement for BE/BTech semesters 7 and 8.
How students were told to check the results
Scroll’s 2021 instructions were to visit the VTU results website, select the link for the relevant result, enter the requested details and submit to display the result. The report did not specify one set of required fields for every programme or batch.

A University Updates Forum post treated BE/BTech semesters 7 and 8 as a different results tranche. That post reported an announcement on April 27, 2021, at 1:30 p.m., and an update on April 30. Those details come from the forum post, not from an independently verified VTU record. Read the forum post.
