Kick says it makes money through subscription and KICKs processing fees, its KICK Partner Program, campaign-based Bounties and a platform-wide advertising business introduced in 2026. The widely discussed 95/5 split does not mean Kick says it keeps 5% of subscriptions: its current help page describes that amount as a processing fee. Kick has not published an audited breakdown of its revenue or profit, so the available figures explain its monetization model—not how much the company earns overall.
How Kick earns money
Kick’s public materials describe several ways the platform and its creators can generate income. Some are direct platform monetization, such as advertising and subscription-related fees; others are payments to creators through a partner program or individual campaigns. Kick does not disclose how much revenue each stream generates or whether the business is profitable.

Does Kick keep 5% of subscriptions?
Kick’s August 27, 2026 help article says its 95/5 split applies to subscription revenue and KICKs. Kick describes the 5% as a processing fee and says it takes no percentage of those earnings. For a stated $5 monthly subscription, Kick’s example allocates $4.75 to the streamer and $0.25 to the processing fee (Kick’s subscription and revenue guidance).
That is Kick’s description of its policy, not an independently audited account of payment settlements. The headline split also does not, by itself, establish what a particular creator will earn: eligibility, viewer support and other monetization routes matter.

How creators qualify for subscriptions and KPP
Subscription access
Kick says creators must be a KICK Affiliate or Partner to earn subscription revenue and use other monetization tools. Its June 2026 basic eligibility guidance says five cumulative hours of streaming are needed before subscriptions can be enabled through the dashboard (Kick’s basic affiliate eligibility guidance). This is a lower threshold for enabling subscriptions, not the application standard for the KICK Partner Program.
KICK Partner Program
The KPP is a separate route: Kick says eligible creators can earn revenue per stream. Its July 7, 2026 guide lists these application metrics: a verified channel; at least 75 average concurrent viewers over the previous 30 days; 30 streaming hours during those 30 days; 25 active subscriptions; 250 unique chatters; three VODs; and at least 250 followers (Kick’s KPP eligibility guide).

- Kick says the metrics may change, so applicants should check the current guide.
- Kick’s partner terms say multistreaming changes how revenue is calculated and may reduce a creator’s amount compared with streaming exclusively on Kick. The terms require creators to use the multistream toggle (Kick’s Terms of Service).
Kick’s creator site says the program launched in 2024 and reports more than $400 million in cumulative KPP payouts as of 2026 (Kick’s creator site). That is a company-reported amount paid to creators—not Kick’s revenue, profit or independently audited program total.
What are Kick Bounties?
Bounties are short-form video campaigns in which Kick or a brand partner pays a streamer for clips. The amount is set by the campaign, making this a separate, campaign-based creator income stream rather than a general subscription split. Kick’s public explanation does not quantify total Bounty payments or establish a general affiliate program for these campaigns (Kick’s monetization guidance).

Do Kick ads pay streamers?
Not directly, according to Kick’s current advertising guidance. Kick says ads can appear on streams based on factors such as location, category, channel and language. Creators cannot opt out of scheduled ads; subscribers do not see ads on channels they subscribe to; and ads do not currently generate additional direct creator payment. Kick says KPP creators are compensated through the separate partner program. Its guidance also says monetization is unavailable in the Slots & Casino category (Kick’s advertising guidance).
Kick announced its advertising launch in 2026 as a new business for advertisers (Kick’s advertising launch announcement). The announcement indicates that brands can buy into the platform, but does not disclose ad prices, revenue, fill rates or the share of Kick’s business that advertising represents.

What Kick’s public figures do—and do not—show
Kick’s 2026 advertising announcement reports more than 100 million active users and says 81.7% of its audience is aged 18–34. It also reports 39 million new users during 2025 and 27 million more in the first half of 2026 (Kick’s 2026 announcement). These are company-reported figures, not audited revenue measures.
The same announcement cites more than 1.5 billion hours watched in Q2 2026, attributing the figure to StreamCharts. Kick also reports a content mix of 48% gaming and 37% talk shows, podcasts and IRL livestreams, plus more than 41,000 creators streaming monthly and over one million hours of live content. These figures describe audience and platform activity; they do not reveal how much advertisers pay, how much Kick keeps, or its costs.

The official materials reviewed do not provide an audited platform-wide revenue breakdown, margins, profitability, or a quantified relationship between Kick and any separate funding source.
