What’s actually slowing this PC down?

Verdict: Hostinger’s built-in SEO tools are good enough for basic on-page optimization, but they are not a complete SEO platform. Website Builder makes it easy to edit titles, descriptions, URLs, headings, keywords and image alt text, while also handling basics such as sitemaps. That is enough for many small business, portfolio, blog and starter ecommerce sites.
However, Hostinger does not replace dedicated tools for serious keyword research, rank tracking, backlink analysis, competitor research or advanced technical SEO. Its AI suggestions can speed up implementation, but they do not guarantee indexing, traffic or rankings.
What Hostinger’s SEO tools actually include
This review focuses primarily on Hostinger Website Builder, not every SEO-related Hostinger product. The builder’s documented SEO controls are available from Website settings → SEO settings, or from Pages and navigation → page settings → SEO settings. See Hostinger’s SEO settings documentation for the current interface.

How the basic workflow works
- Create a page in Website Builder.
- Open its SEO settings from the page settings menu.
- Write or generate a title and meta description.
- Set a short, descriptive URL.
- Add a target phrase only when it accurately reflects the page.
- Use meaningful heading levels and add accurate alt text to informative images.
- Publish the page, inspect the live result, and connect the site to Google Search Console.
The AI SEO Assistant can generate titles, descriptions and keywords and provide checklist-style guidance on items such as keyword placement, character counts, headings and alt text. That makes it approachable for someone who has never optimized a page before.

The important limitation is that a checklist is not an SEO strategy. A green indicator cannot tell you whether a keyword has useful demand, whether competitors are authoritative, whether the page satisfies search intent, or whether the content deserves to rank.
What works well
It covers the fundamentals without requiring a plugin
For a small website, the most important first step is often simply having editable titles, descriptions, URLs, headings and image text. Hostinger puts those controls close to the page editor instead of requiring a separate WordPress installation or a complicated plugin configuration.
The controls are accessible to beginners
The interface is designed for users who want plain-language prompts rather than technical documentation. You can manually edit AI-generated copy, which matters because generated metadata may be vague, repetitive or poorly matched to the page.
Rank #2
It supports a sensible starter setup
A local service business could optimize a home page, service page, about page and contact page. A freelancer could create focused pages for each service. A small shop can edit product SEO separately from ordinary page settings. These are realistic use cases where basic implementation matters more than enterprise-level auditing.
Recommended Free Tools
Mobile and site infrastructure are bundled
Website Builder provides desktop and mobile editing views, while Hostinger says speed and sitemap handling are built into the Website Builder experience. Performance still depends on the page, assets, visitor location, device and network. A third-party review reported strong results in its own testing, but that should not be treated as a universal performance guarantee.
Where Hostinger’s SEO tools stop
No substitute for keyword research
Hostinger’s keyword field and AI suggestions do not provide the depth of a dedicated research platform. They do not, by themselves, give reliable search-volume history, keyword difficulty, competitor gaps, topic clustering or commercial-intent analysis.
Rank #3
Limited advanced technical control
Website Builder is less suitable when you need granular control over technical SEO. Current third-party coverage identifies the lack of—or limited access to—features such as schema controls, canonical management and hreflang in Website Builder. Verify the current interface before relying on any specific omission, because builder capabilities can change.
Other areas that may require workarounds or external tools include robots directives, customized sitemap rules, redirects after URL changes, structured-data validation, crawl diagnostics and advanced Open Graph control. A changed slug can also create broken links if redirect behavior is not handled automatically; check the live old URL and your internal links after any URL change.
Free tools Windows power users keep installed
One-click scans. No signup required.
No built-in growth measurement suite
Website Builder is not a full rank tracker, backlink index or competitor-analysis platform. It does not replace scheduled crawls, historical keyword positions, backlink monitoring or agency reporting. Connect Google Search Console for search queries and indexing diagnostics, and use analytics for traffic and behavior measurement.
Rank #4
Submitting a sitemap or requesting indexing is only a discovery request. It is not a promise that Google will index the page or rank it.
AI products are not the same thing
Hostinger now has several products that can be confused with one another:
- Website Builder: page-level SEO settings and the AI SEO Assistant.
- Hostinger Agent: an AI business assistant with skills such as SEO audits, planning and content workflows. Hostinger says new users receive 200 trial credits and paid subscriptions include 1,000 credits per month, with usage depending on task complexity. It is not a conventional crawler, backlink database or rank tracker. See Hostinger Agent’s pricing and credits page.
- Hostinger Horizons: an AI web-app builder whose SEO settings are handled through prompts rather than the same Website Builder interface. See Horizons’ SEO documentation.
- WordPress hosted by Hostinger: a different product environment where third-party SEO plugins may provide more technical controls.
Buying a Hostinger plan does not mean every one of these features is available in the same editor.
Who should use Hostinger?
Good fit
- A local business creating a small service website
- A freelancer or creator who values simplicity
- A blogger publishing a modest number of articles
- A new seller with a small product catalog
- Anyone who wants hosting, SSL, templates and basic SEO in one subscription
Weak fit
- SEO agencies managing multiple client sites
- Large ecommerce stores or complex publisher sites
- International websites requiring hreflang and regional SEO controls
- Technical SEOs needing crawl, log-file or JavaScript-rendering analysis
- Teams requiring historical rank data, competitor research or automated reporting
Hostinger compared with dedicated SEO tools
| Need | Hostinger Website Builder | Better alternative type |
|---|---|---|
| Basic metadata | Strong enough | No separate tool usually needed |
| Beginner on-page guidance | Good | Builder assistant |
| Keyword and competitor research | Limited | Semrush or another SEO research platform |
| Rank tracking | Not a core feature | SE Ranking, Semrush or similar |
| Backlink analysis | Not a core feature | Dedicated backlink platform |
| Content scoring | Limited | Surfer or Clearscope |
| WordPress technical SEO | Different product | AIOSEO or another WordPress plugin |
| Traffic measurement | Use an analytics integration | Google Analytics and Search Console |
For example, Semrush’s SEO Toolkit is designed for keyword research, competitor analysis, position tracking, crawling and reporting; its displayed pricing is far higher than a basic builder subscription. Surfer and Clearscope focus more on content optimization, while AIOSEO is intended for WordPress. These tools solve different problems rather than being direct replacements for hosting.
Pricing and long-term value
Hostinger’s pricing page displayed these promotional equivalents when accessed:
| Plan | Displayed rate | Billing shown | Displayed renewal |
|---|---|---|---|
| Premium | $2.99/month | 48 months, $143.52 upfront | $10.99/month |
| Unlimited | $3.79/month | 48 months, $181.92 upfront | $16.99/month |
| Cloud Startup | $7.99/month | 48 months, $383.52 upfront | $25.99/month |
These are promotional figures, not month-to-month prices at the displayed monthly equivalent. Prices can vary by country, currency, taxes, billing term and campaign, so check the official pricing page at checkout. The page also lists a 30-day money-back guarantee and notes that some “unlimited” features are subject to its Fair Usage Policy.
The value proposition is strongest when you need a complete starter website. If you later need keyword databases, rank tracking or technical audits, budget separately for those tools. Also consider platform lock-in: before choosing a builder for a long-term content business, confirm how easily designs, content, metadata and URLs can be moved elsewhere.
Do these 3 things before closing this tab:
1Repair Windows errors before they cause bigger problems2Scan for outdated or missing drivers - takes under a minute3Clear out junk files and repair common Windows errorsFinal verdict
Hostinger is a good starting point for basic SEO, not a replacement for SEO software. Choose it if you want an inexpensive, beginner-friendly website with built-in controls for metadata, URLs, headings, alt text and basic indexing workflows.
Use Google Search Console and analytics alongside it once the site is live. Add a dedicated SEO platform when you need keyword research, competitor analysis, rank history, backlink data, technical audits or agency reporting. If maximum technical control, extensibility and portability are more important than simplicity, WordPress or another more flexible platform is likely the better long-term choice.
