Gervonta Davis and Lamont Roach fought on March 1, 2025, at Barclays Center in Brooklyn. Their 12-round, 135-pound bout ended in a majority draw, with Davis retaining the WBA lightweight title. The odds and picks below are historical pre-fight information—not live prices or a forecast for a future fight.
What were the Davis–Roach odds before the fight?
A CBS Sports report published March 1, 2025, listed Davis at -1800 and Roach at +940. That is one publisher’s dated odds snapshot, not a consensus across sportsbooks or a verified closing line. At those prices, the snapshot heavily favored Davis, but the bout finished as a draw.
| Market | March 1, 2025 odds reported by CBS Sports |
|---|---|
| Davis to win | -1800 |
| Roach to win | +940 |
| Total rounds | 8.5; over +104, under -132 |
| Fight to go the distance | +320 |
| Davis by KO/TKO | -430 |
These prices describe the pre-fight markets reported in that article, not present-day odds. The recorded result—a majority draw—was neither a Davis win nor a Davis KO/TKO.
What were the predictions and picks?
CBS Sports’ article discussed SportsLine analyst Josh Nagel’s predictions, but gated the analyst’s actual selections and reasoning. The available report therefore does not establish what Nagel picked; it would be misleading to assign him a Davis victory or to treat the listed favorite as his personal pick.

- EFFECTIVE IMPACT DISPERSION – Are your training gloves affecting your accuracy? The RDX gloves dissipate the force of impact across the specially made, pre-curved anatomical structure of the sparring gloves due to the presence of Quadro Dome 3 padding, which uses EVA foam and SpongeX sheet. This results in a comfortable training experience for the users of the RDX heavy boxing gloves.
- PATENT PENDING LOMA TECH DESIGN – Do you face trouble forming the perfect fist, while using boxing gloves ? RDX gloves feature a PATENT PENDING single seamless LOMA Tech design used in the palm area and thumb of the boxing gloves. This helps create an improved alignment between the fist and thumb and along with an especially designed attached thumb allows the trainees to form the perfect fist and punch better with the training gloves.
- EXCEPTIONALLY DURABLE MATERIAL – No matter how hard you punch these gloves make sure to outlast your intense training. The use of advanced caliber Maya Hide ConvEX Skin Leather in the KARA Series training gloves makes them durable and reliable for long-term use while also providing a superior look and feel during Boxing, Muay Thai, MMA, Kickboxing, and heavy bag training sessions among other similar sports.
- FULL WRAPAROUND WRIST SUPPORT – A hassle-free design with sufficient support for your wrists. The hook and loop Fastener straps provide a secure fit and make it easy to put on or take off the kickboxing gloves for men and women along with providing better wrist support due to the full wraparound wrist strap, while the dual stitching in the heavy bag gloves makes them durable and resilient for extensive training sessions.
- SWEAT-FREE EXPERIENCE – Bid farewell to those sweaty palms and hands. With multiple ventilation holes strategically placed in the thumb sections of the lightweight boxing gloves, RDX ensures proper airflow management so that its customers get a sweat-free experience. Furthermore, the advanced perforated sheet for breathable ventilation in the palm area is sweat-wicking and minimizes sweat accumulation.
For readers assessing the pre-fight information, the useful comparison is between the lopsided Davis price in that single odds snapshot and what occurred: a close, disputed draw. One result does not establish whether a particular sportsbook’s line was fair or profitable over time.

The ninth-round knee and the official cards
PBC described Davis taking a voluntary knee after a jab, then going to his corner to have grease wiped from his eye. PBC said that if the knee had been ruled a knockdown, two scorecards would have swung Roach’s way. That is PBC’s conditional account of the scoring impact, not the official result: the bout was recorded as a majority draw.
What was the official result?
The judges scored the 12-round contest 114–114, 114–114 and 115–113 for Davis. Two even cards and one narrow Davis card produced the majority draw; Davis retained his WBA lightweight title. The result captures why the punch totals alone do not settle the debate: the fight was close on the cards, Roach rallied late, and the ninth-round incident became a point of contention.

What was the matchup before the fight?
In its December 3, 2024 announcement, PBC billed Davis as WBA lightweight champion and Roach as WBA super featherweight champion moving up for a 135-pound main event. The fighters had met twice as amateurs, with Davis winning both bouts. PBC quoted Davis acknowledging Roach’s achievements and saying Roach would “find out that there are levels to this boxing game.”
PBC’s fight-statistics page, accessed October 7, 2026, lists both at 135 pounds and gives these measurements and current displayed records:
