CME Group reported a settlement of $381.32; Agriculture.com reported a close of $381.33. The one-cent difference appears in the two reports and should not be mistaken for a different daily gain.
How much did feeder cattle futures rise?
The November 2025 feeder cattle contract gained $4.60 per hundredweight. CME Group reported the settlement at $381.32, a new contract high. Agriculture.com reported a $381.33 close, also up $4.60. Because the published prices differ by one cent, each figure is best attributed to its source rather than treated as a single agreed settlement.
The advance extended across the market: Barchart reported gains ranging from $4.30 to $4.70 in most feeder cattle futures contracts on Oct. 14. CME also reported a feeder cattle Relative Strength Index reading of 71.90 in its same-day commentary. An RSI is a technical indicator; that figure describes the reading CME reported, not a price or an explanation for the rally.
How do the feeder cattle figures compare with related markets?
These measures cover different contracts, products, or observation dates. They are context for the session, not interchangeable prices.

Futures settlements, the Feeder Cattle Index, and boxed beef values describe distinct markets. In particular, the Oct. 13 index figure does not establish an Oct. 14 cash feeder cattle price.
Independent reader supportYour contribution helps us test, update, and keep practical guides available for everyone. What do the reports say about the market context?
Agriculture.com said feeder cattle gains had been supporting feeder futures, while weakness in boxed beef was weighing on live cattle and making high-priced feeder cattle unprofitable. CME’s Oct. 14 afternoon snapshot, by contrast, showed its choice and select boxed beef values higher that day. The reports may refer to different reporting times or measures; the available figures do not resolve the difference.
The session reports establish a sharp feeder futures advance, but they do not establish one definitive cause. Treat explanations of the move as attributed market commentary, not as a proven causal account.
