The announcement described farmland-search and analysis tools and listed three subscription tiers, but it does not establish the service’s current coverage, features, or prices.
Which states did FarmlandFinder add?
FarmlandFinder initially served Iowa. In its January 7, 2019 expansion announcement, the company said it was adding:
- Illinois
- Indiana
- Kansas

- Nebraska
- North Dakota
- Ohio
- South Dakota
- Wisconsin
The announcement framed the platform for people involved in farmland acquisition, valuation, and analysis. These are the states named in the 2019 report, not a verified list of current service areas. Successful Farming’s January 7, 2019 report is the source for the expansion details.

Successful Farming described a research platform that brought together property searches and information relevant to evaluating farmland. Features reported at the time included:

These figures and descriptions come from the January 7, 2019 account. The article does not establish present-day plan names, prices, included users, or feature limits, so they should not be used to estimate a current subscription cost.
What scale claims did the announcement make?
Successful Farming reported that FarmlandFinder tracked land from more than 3,000 brokerages. The article also quoted founder Steven Brockshus saying the service let users search more than 6,500 properties for sale. Both figures describe the platform as presented in 2019; they are not current inventory or independently verified market-coverage statistics.
Rank #3
Brockshus also said in the article that $56 billion worth of land changes hands each year. That is his attributed statement in the 2019 announcement, not an independently validated or current statistic.
Independent reader supportYour contribution helps us test, update, and keep practical guides available for everyone. What the announcement can—and cannot—tell buyers today
For a historical account, the announcement documents FarmlandFinder’s stated expansion and the tools and subscription tiers it described at that time. It is not enough to determine whether the service currently covers a particular state, what it costs, which data it includes, or whether it offers a referral or affiliate program. Anyone evaluating farmland software should confirm those details directly with the provider before relying on them.
Rank #4
The report quoted Brockshus’s vision of making land information accessible and making transactions transparent, quick, and simple. Those statements express the founder’s goals; they are not independent evidence of the platform’s accuracy, completeness, or financial value to a buyer.
