Manchester City won the final 1–0 against Chelsea on 16 May 2026. A later FA notice gives different amounts for the 2025/26 semi-finals, however, and the official sources reviewed do not establish whether the final awards were revised.
How much did the 2025/26 FA Cup winners earn?
The season-specific FA competition document lists £2,000,000 for the final-winning club and £1,000,000 for the runner-up. Those are the published final-round prize-fund amounts, not a calculation of everything either club received through the competition. The FA said the winning and losing club amounts were unchanged from 2024/25.
Manchester City beat Chelsea 1–0 at Wembley on 16 May 2026 to win the cup. The FA’s 2025/26 competition document sets out the prize table, and its season announcement says the final winner and runner-up amounts remained the same as the previous campaign.
Published prize payments by round
The amounts below are the season-table payment for winning or losing at each listed stage. They are not cumulative totals: a finalist’s eventual receipts are not calculated by adding every prior-round winner’s payment. The table reproduces the amounts published in the FA’s 2025/26 competition document.

The FA table does not list losing-club payments for the fourth round proper, fifth round proper or quarter-final, so those amounts should not be inferred from it.
Why the 2025/26 semi-final figures conflict
The season competition document lists £1,000,000 for each semi-final winner and £500,000 for each losing club. But a later FA notice about the 2025/26 semi-finals says the winning and losing clubs would receive £1,060,000 and £530,000, respectively. The two official publications conflict; the later notice does not, by itself, establish whether the final prizes in the season table were also changed.

The FA’s current prize page lists £2,120,000 for a winner and £1,060,000 for a runner-up, but those figures are explicitly for 2026/27. They are not confirmation of the amount paid for the 2025/26 final. On the official material available, the defensible statement is that the 2025/26 season table lists £2 million and £1 million; whether the final awards were revised is not established.
Prize money is not the same as a club’s total FA Cup receipts
The headline prize is a payment to the club, not an individual player payout or a measure of each club’s total financial return. The FA also announced extra fees for selected broadcast matches. These depend on selection and platform, so they are not automatic additions for every team.

- For the first round proper, the FA said clubs in ties selected for live television would receive an additional £50,000.
The notices describe selection-dependent fees, not a complete accounting of either finalist’s competition-related income. They do not establish each club’s total receipts.

For a direct answer to “How much did the FA Cup winners earn?”, the published 2025/26 final-table figure is £2 million for Manchester City, with £1 million listed for Chelsea as runner-up. Those figures should be attributed to the season table, alongside the unresolved discrepancy between that document and the later semi-final notice. The separate £2.12 million figure belongs to the 2026/27 season.
