Equifax’s published Mortgage Ultimate information describes a lender-facing verification service for the mortgage process—not a consumer mortgage or standalone software product. The documented package supports up to four verifications using the same verification filters, with available recent records covering 90 days and inactive records reaching back as far as 24 months. The specific announcement wording about “adaptive automation” has not been independently established in the available Equifax materials, so lenders should treat that feature claim as unconfirmed until they receive current product documentation.
What Mortgage Ultimate is designed to do
Mortgage Ultimate is positioned for mortgage lenders at three workflow points: point of sale, underwriting and the period just before closing. Its purpose is to obtain verification of income (VOI), verification of employment (VOE), or both as permitted by the selected filters.

The Equifax mortgage lifecycle page describes up to four verification requests included with the offering. Those requests use the same filters; the description does not establish that a lender receives four differently configured checks. Packaging, eligibility and contract terms can change, so a lender should confirm the current order allowance directly with Equifax.

Documented verification coverage
| Capability | What the published information states | What it does not establish |
|---|---|---|
| Verification count | Up to four verifications using the same filters | Four distinct filter sets or unlimited rechecks |
| Verification type | Income or employment verification (VOI or VOE) | That every borrower or employer will be covered digitally |
| Recent records | Available income and employment records dating back 90 days from the request | That every applicant has 90 days of usable records |
| Inactive records | Available inactive records going back as far as 24 months | Continuous coverage for every inactive employment history |
| Workflow stages | Point of sale, underwriting and just before closing | A guaranteed turnaround time or current price |
“Available” is important in each history window: the periods describe the data Equifax can return when records exist, not a promise that every borrower’s full history will be present.

How the service could fit a lender workflow
- Initial application: A lender can request a VOI or VOE check during point of sale, using the chosen filter configuration.
- Underwriting: Additional requests can refresh information as the file is reviewed, subject to the package’s up-to-four limit and the same-filter condition.
- Pre-closing refresh: A lender can use a remaining verification before closing when policy requires current employment or income confirmation.
- Exception handling: If a digital record is unavailable, the lender should confirm what manual or alternate channel is offered under its current agreement rather than assuming Mortgage Ultimate includes every fallback.
Where automation is documented—and where it is not
Equifax’s August 24, 2022 announcement about its manual mortgage verification offerings described automated ordering of reverifications of employment (RVOE). It also described standard and expedited options for initial manual verifications, including Priority Next Day and Priority Two Day. Those statements show that Equifax has discussed automation in mortgage-verification order handling.
They do not prove that Mortgage Ultimate uses “adaptive automation,” nor do they define an algorithm that dynamically changes filters or selects coverage. The 2022 announcement also said manual verification could complement the instant service available through The Work Number database when information was not available digitally. Because these are historical announcement details, lenders should verify that the options and turnaround commitments remain available.

Do not confuse Mortgage Ultimate with other Equifax offerings
On July 25, 2024, Equifax announced All Employers Within 90 Days, a separate mortgage-verification solution. Its existence indicates that Equifax has continued expanding verification choices, but it should not be treated as a feature or renamed version of Mortgage Ultimate without product documentation saying so.
Questions lenders should ask before contracting
- How many verification requests are included today, and do all requests have to use identical filters?
- Can the lender order VOI, VOE or both, and are the choices different by workflow stage?
- What percentage of borrowers are expected to have usable digital records, and what manual fallback applies when they do not?
- Does the 90-day recent-record window begin at each request, and exactly how are inactive records defined within the 24-month period?
- Are RVOE automation, standard turnaround and expedited turnaround options included in the proposed agreement?
- What are the current prices, implementation requirements, service-level commitments, retention rules and borrower-consent steps?
- Which capabilities belong to Mortgage Ultimate versus All Employers Within 90 Days or another verification product?
What is established today
The strongest documented description is a mortgage-lender service offering up to four same-filter VOI or VOE verifications, with up to 90 days of available recent records and up to 24 months of available inactive records. Equifax has separately described automated reverification ordering in its manual verification business. The precise “adaptive automation for seamless, expansive verification coverage” announcement and feature wording remain unverified; lenders should request the current technical and commercial terms before relying on them in underwriting or closing procedures.
