Adani Wilmar IPO Complaint: What’s Verified About the 130-Share Claim

The 65-share figure matches Adani Wilmar IPO’s reported lot size. But the alleged bank-entry error, compensation claim and consumer commission outcome are not verified by available case-specific records.

The claim that a woman applied for 130 Adani Wilmar IPO shares, a bank entered only 65, and a consumer commission granted her relief cannot be verified from the available case-specific records. The reported 65-share figure does match the IPO’s lot size, but that context does not establish what happened in the alleged dispute. The stated Rs 40.63 lakh is described as compensation sought—not an amount confirmed as awarded.

What is established—and what is not

The available sources establish background about the Adani Wilmar IPO, not the alleged consumer case. They do not identify the applicant, bank, commission, decision date, case number, remedy, or any appeal or later order. Without a signed order or reliable reporting tied to the case, it would be misleading to say that the commission granted relief or that the matter is final.

  • Verified context: the IPO’s reported lot size was 65 shares, so 130 shares would equal two lots.
  • Unverified allegation: that the woman submitted an instruction for 130 shares and the bank entered only 65.
  • Unverified outcome: that a consumer commission granted relief.
  • Unverified amount: Rs 40.63 lakh is presented in the claim as compensation sought; no award amount or basis is established.

Why the 65-share figure fits the IPO

Business Today reported a 65-share lot size and a price band of Rs 218–230 per share for the 2022 issue. Since IPO bids were in multiples of a lot, 130 shares corresponds arithmetically to two lots. That makes 65 a plausible lot-sized quantity, but it does not prove that an applicant requested two lots or that a bank transmitted only one.

The IPO offer period ran from January 27 through January 31, 2022, according to Angel One’s IPO alert. The alert gave February 3 as the date for finalizing allotments and February 8 as the listing date. The Indian Express reported reservations of 50% for qualified institutional buyers, 35% for retail investors, and 15% for non-institutional investors. These facts explain the offer’s context; none verifies the consumer complaint.

What a reliable case account would need to show

A commission’s order or dependable case-specific reporting would be needed to establish what the applicant actually instructed, what the bank or intermediary recorded and transmitted, and what evidence the commission accepted. It should also identify the forum and decision date, state the legal basis for any finding of liability, and distinguish the compensation claimed from any remedy ordered.

Procedural status matters as well: a first-instance decision may be appealed or modified. Until the case identity and subsequent proceedings are checked, the alleged relief should not be described as final or current. The IPO’s lot size alone cannot resolve any of these questions.
