But the sources available do not disclose how much Ray Romano currently earns from the show—or establish a reliable annual figure. Claims that assign him a specific amount should be treated as unverified unless they cite direct, credible evidence.
Why the show may still generate income
When a television production is reused beyond its original market or exhibition window, performers may receive residuals in addition to their initial compensation. SAG-AFTRA defines residuals as “additional compensation paid to performers when a production is shown beyond the original use covered by the initial compensation.” The union’s guide describes general payment rules across different kinds of reuse; it does not reveal Romano’s individual contract or calculate his checks. Residuals are only one possible part of a performer’s compensation. A show’s original episode salary, later reuse payments, and any separately negotiated participation in proceeds are distinct. The amount and timing of any payments depend on the applicable agreement and actual reuse or receipts. The available information does not establish what Romano receives today from broadcast syndication, cable, foreign sales, home video, or streaming.
What the 2003 compensation reports tell us—and what they don’t
News coverage of negotiations during the show’s original run offers historical context, not a current earnings statement. In 2003, CBS News described syndication, foreign sales, and home video as potential sources of back-end profits for network series. CBS News’ 2003 report The Washington Post reported that cast compensation negotiations included a cut of syndication proceeds. The Washington Post’s August 28, 2003 report

Those accounts do not state Romano’s present-day contract terms, the amount of any proceeds he receives, or how much the series earns from current licensing. They cannot support a dollar estimate for his annual income now.
The show’s longevity is documented, but current rerun activity is not
The Associated Press noted in May 2024 that the CBS sitcom had ended its nine-season run nearly 20 years earlier and continued to enjoy success. Romano called that staying power “Baffling.” The Associated Press’ May 20, 2024 interview
The Television Academy also described Everybody Loves Raymond as a major syndication hit around its 20th anniversary, reporting near-constant reruns on TV Land at that time. That is evidence of historical rerun exposure, not a claim about where or how often the show is available today. The Academy reported that the series won 15 Emmy Awards, including two for outstanding comedy series; awards recognize the show’s achievements, not its revenue. Television Academy feature

A precise annual figure needs a credible source that directly identifies Romano’s personal receipts and the period covered. General residual rules, past salary reports, the show’s awards, and evidence that it was a syndication success do not provide that calculation. No reviewed source publishes a current, reliable annual amount for Romano’s income from Everybody Loves Raymond.
