Yes. Liberland’s official 2026 roadmap says elections had concluded and Justin Sun had become Prime Minister again. That is an announcement about Liberland’s own provisional government; it does not establish international recognition of Liberland or a change in its legal status.
What did Liberland announce?
Liberland’s 2026 roadmap reports that elections had recently concluded and Sun had become Prime Minister again. The roadmap describes Sun as the founder of the TRON blockchain ecosystem. This is Liberland’s own account of its leadership and election process, not independent confirmation by a recognized national government. Read Liberland’s 2026 roadmap.

What does the Prime Minister do in Liberland’s government?
According to Liberland’s government page, Congress appoints the Prime Minister and other ministers. The page describes the current provisional government as the governing body until an Assembly is sworn in after the first General Election; it says the provisional government will then disband. Liberland’s government description sets out this internal arrangement.
Sun’s role predates the 2026 announcement
The government page also says a temporary Ministry of Information Technology was established in 2024 by a decision of Prime Minister Justin Sun and Congress. That history indicates the roadmap describes a return to a role Sun had held before, rather than his first appearance in Liberland’s government.

What is Liberland, and is it internationally recognized?
Liberland describes itself as a sovereign state and says its claim is to a 7 km² area called Gornja Siga, between Croatia and Serbia. Its About page connects the claim to the Croatia–Serbia border dispute and describes its structure as, “de Jure,” a constitutional republic with elements of direct democracy and, “de Facto,” a provisional government chaired by the president. These are Liberland’s descriptions of itself and its territorial claim, not an independent ruling on sovereignty. Liberland’s About page.
A February 3, 2026 statement by President Vít Jedlička, Prime Minister Justin Sun and Foreign Affairs Minister Thomas Walls presented Liberland’s position on statements made in the Croatian Parliament and on the border context. It is evidence of what Liberland said, not a neutral determination of the territory’s status. Read the statement.
The available sources establish Liberland’s announcement and its own account of its institutions. They do not independently confirm diplomatic recognition or show that Sun’s appointment changed the territory’s legal status.
