Exertis Enterprise was not included in DCC’s announced sale of its UK and Ireland Info Tech business to AURELIUS. The retained operation later returned to the Hammer Distribution name and says it remains part of DCC. The July 2025 story concerned the proposed transaction and Exertis Enterprise’s expected next chapter; Hammer Distribution is the business’s subsequent trading identity.
Was Exertis Enterprise sold to AURELIUS?
No. DCC announced on 14 July 2025 that it had agreed to sell its UK and Ireland Info Tech business to AURELIUS, subject to customary regulatory approval. The announcement listed Exertis UK Business and Consumer, Hypertec, Exertis Supplies, Exertis Ireland, Macro EV, Exertis Supply Chain Services, MTR and Ztorm as part of the transaction. Exertis Enterprise was outside that announced sale perimeter. DCC said at the time that it expected the transaction to complete in the fourth quarter of 2025; that timetable in the announcement is not evidence of completion. DCC / Exertis’s 14 July 2025 announcement sets out the scope and expected timetable.
What happened to Exertis Enterprise after the sale announcement?
In July 2025, Exertis Enterprise said it would continue as an independent division of DCC Technology and planned to evolve its identity in the following months. The business described its focus as serving resellers and managed service providers (MSPs) with enterprise technology, including security, networking, infrastructure, storage, servers, components, AI and hybrid cloud. MicroScope’s 18 July 2025 report covered the announcement and attributed statements to company executives.
The business returned to the Hammer Distribution name
By October 2025, the retained operation had rebranded as Hammer Distribution. ChannelWeb reported on 1 October that managing director Jason Chibnall described the move as a way to clarify the business’s identity after the corporate restructuring. Hammer’s own FAQ says the business reintroduced the Hammer Distribution name after the sale of Exertis UK, was not part of that transaction and continues as part of DCC. ChannelWeb’s report covers the rebrand; Hammer Distribution’s FAQ gives the company’s account of its current identity and group relationship.

What changed for partners—and what did not?
Hammer says the change was to the trading identity, not the products, services, contracts or staff. It says existing services, agreements, warranties and contacts remained in place and advises partners to update the trading style in their records. These are statements from the company; partners handling a specific contract or account should confirm the appropriate name and details directly with their Hammer contact.
The FAQ identifies the UK legal entity as Exertis Hammer Limited and the European legal entity as Exertis Enterprise NL BV. That distinction matters: the Hammer Distribution name is the trading identity, while legal entities named on agreements or other documents can differ by jurisdiction.

What does Hammer Distribution do?
Hammer describes itself as a value-added, enterprise-focused distributor. Its stated areas include cybersecurity, cloud, storage, AI and enterprise infrastructure. In the July 2025 report, then-managing director Jason Chibnall said the business aimed to deliver specialist solutions for customers and partners; UK sales director Tom Cox said customers came for insight and solutions rather than a catalogue. Those comments describe the company’s positioning, not independent evidence of business performance.

Hammer’s FAQ says the business recorded turnover in excess of £300 million for the year ended 31 March 2025. This is a company-reported figure. It is not, by itself, evidence of post-sale growth: the available information does not establish an independent performance breakdown or a like-for-like financial trend.
