What the jury found
On May 30, 2024, a Manhattan jury found Trump guilty on all 34 counts of falsifying business records in the New York hush-money case, according to the Associated Press’s verdict report. Prosecutors said the records concealed reimbursements connected to Michael Cohen’s $130,000 payment to Stormy Daniels; the reimbursements were recorded as legal expenses, the AP reported in its account of the conviction.
This was the business-records case involving the payment to Daniels. It should not be conflated with Trump’s other criminal cases.
What is known about Musk’s reaction
The contemporaneous coverage cited here does not provide an attributable statement or documented action by Musk about the verdict. That means his reaction is unresolved in these sources; it does not prove that he made no public comment. Without direct reporting or an authenticated post documenting his response, “fuming” should not be presented as fact.

What Trump and other officials said
Trump called the verdict a “disgrace” and said he would fight it, according to CBS News’s May 30, 2024 coverage.
At a post-verdict news conference, Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg said, as quoted by NPR: “While this defendant may be unlike any other in American history, we arrived at this trial — and ultimately today at this verdict — in the same manner as every other case that comes through the courtroom doors: by following the facts and the law, and doing so without fear or favor.”
Other contemporaneous reporting described Republican leaders rallying around Trump and Democrats emphasizing the rule of law, including coverage by The Guardian and Axios. Those reactions do not establish Musk’s position.
