Delta announced on December 11, 2024, that it was accepting applications for flight attendant classes planned for 2025. That announcement is historical, not proof that applications remain open: Delta announced hiring for 2027 classes on September 2, 2026. What Delta’s 2025 hiring announcement said
The December 2024 notice covered English-speaking and bilingual, or Language of Destination (LOD), flight attendant candidates. Delta said it was hiring to meet its planned schedule; the notice also described a company operating about 5,000 flights daily and serving more than 300 destinations in 2024. Those figures provide context for the announcement, not a guarantee of current openings.
2025 eligibility requirements
According to the 2025 announcement, applicants needed to meet these requirements:
- Have a high school diploma, GED, or high school equivalency.
- Be able to work in the United States without employment sponsorship.
- Be fluent in spoken, written, and read English.
- Be at least 21 years old when submitting the application.
- Be flexible and willing to fly domestic and international routes.
Languages listed for 2025 LOD candidates
The 2025 notice listed Czech, Danish, Dutch, French, Greek, German, Italian, Korean, and Swedish. LOD candidates also needed English fluency. This was the language list for that hiring notice, not a standing list of languages Delta needs in later cycles. Delta’s current FAQ says its language needs depend on operational requirements and that successful LOD candidates must speak, read, and write the selected language.

How to check whether applications are open now
Use Delta’s live Flight Attendant Careers page and confirm that a flight attendant requisition is active before applying. Delta’s September 2, 2026 announcement concerned 2027 hiring classes; it does not establish that an application is open at the moment you read this.
Delta says applicants can see their status in their applicant profile and receive email updates from Talent. Submitted application questions cannot be changed, and high application volume can delay updates. Delta also warns that it never asks candidates to pay money during recruitment; official recruitment emails come from addresses ending in @delta.com.
What the current selection process involves
Delta’s current careers page describes the following sequence. It is the process currently published by Delta, not a definitive record of every step used for the 2025 requisition.
- Submit an application. Review the active posting and answer its questions carefully; Delta says submitted answers cannot be changed.
- Complete the assessments. Delta lists an AI-powered candidate assessment through MakiPeople, followed by a values assessment through Fitme. Delta says hiring leaders review candidate information and make the final hiring decisions.
- Record an on-demand interview. The current process uses HireVue for a video interview.
- Attend Event Day in Atlanta. Candidates who advance are invited to an in-person Event Day at Delta headquarters.
- Complete pre-employment checks. A conditional job offer precedes these checks.
- Attend training in Atlanta. Delta currently describes seven weeks of in-person training. Successful candidates receive their training date and base assignment after pre-employment requirements are complete.
Interview and Event Day preparation
For the recorded interview, Delta recommends professional clothing, a quiet location, a neutral background, good lighting, and testing your internet connection, microphone, and webcam beforehand. Position the camera at eye level and give clear, honest answers. Video is required; Delta advises candidates not to read prepared answers from paper or another screen.

Passport and base considerations
Delta’s current FAQ says applicants need a valid passport with at least 30 months of validity remaining when they report for training. Delta says it has 20 flight attendant bases, including Atlanta, Boston, Detroit, Minneapolis, and New York. Base options can vary with operational needs, and LOD flight attendants may have different options. Check the live posting and current FAQ rather than assuming a specific base will be available.

Delta’s current page notes a policy update in June 2026. Follow the rule on the active posting, since the older 90-day guidance does not describe the current policy.
