De Havilland Canada announced the Twin Otter Classic 300-G on June 19, 2023, alongside a combined total of 45 purchase agreements and letters of intent. That is not 45 firm orders: the announcement combines two different commitment types. A separately identified deal was Jetcraft Commercial’s purchase agreement for 10 aircraft, described in connection with a global leasing solution.
What De Havilland’s 45-aircraft announcement means
At the Paris International Air Show on June 19, 2023, De Havilland Canada said agreements and letters of intent for its new Classic 300-G totaled 45 aircraft. The company’s wording matters: the figure combines purchase agreements with letters of intent, so it should not be reported as 45 firm purchase orders. The announcement does not break down the total by commitment type.

What was the named deal?
De Havilland and Jetcraft Commercial separately announced a purchase agreement for 10 new Classic 300-Gs at the air show. Jetcraft said the aircraft were part of a global leasing solution. This is a specific purchase agreement within the launch-era commercial activity, not evidence that all 45 aircraft in the combined figure had the same status. De Havilland’s Jetcraft announcement.
What changed in the Classic 300-G?
De Havilland introduced the Classic 300-G as the fifth generation of the Twin Otter, alongside the then-current Series 400. Its launch description emphasized a lighter-weight aircraft, a new cabin interior and Garmin G1000 NXi avionics. The company said the weight change would improve payload range and reduce operating costs; those are manufacturer claims, not independently verified performance results in the available sources.

Garmin’s launch statement said the G1000 NXi would add wireless cockpit connectivity, enhanced situational awareness, visual approach capability and an integrated GFC 700 autopilot with envelope protection. These are described features, rather than a quantified comparison with another aircraft or earlier Twin Otter variant. De Havilland’s launch announcement.
What missions is the Twin Otter designed to serve?
De Havilland lists passenger, VIP, cargo, medical-evacuation and special-mission roles for the Twin Otter family. It also describes amphibious-float operations between paved surfaces and water landing areas. These broad roles help explain the aircraft’s utility positioning, but the cited launch materials do not establish a head-to-head comparison of payload, range or operating cost against competing aircraft. - Scale replica of the STOL (Short Take Off and Landing) capable cargo and passenger carrying utility aircraft
- An upgraded and larger – yet still conveniently sized – alternative to the popular 1.2m model
- Functional features including LED navigation and landing lights plus operational flaps
- A single 3S or 4S 2200–3200mAh battery delivers excellent power and long flight times
- Six factory-installed servos including a more durable metal-geared nose steering and rudder servo
Is the Classic 300-G certified?
De Havilland Canada’s news listing reports EASA certification for the Classic 300-G on July 22, 2026. That is a dated regulatory milestone; it does not by itself establish the current number of aircraft delivered or how many of the 2023 letters of intent became purchase agreements.
