Important: the Currys Boxing Day deals covered here ran on 26 December 2025 and should be treated as a historical snapshot, not as live offers. Currys’ UK sale page was reporting no general sale as of 18 August 2026, although it continued to list everyday offers, clearance products and future seasonal promotions. Check Currys’ current sale page before buying.
The original TechRadar feature selected 22 deals from Currys’ Boxing Day and Epic Deals promotion, advertising savings of up to 40% across TVs, laptops, appliances and other technology. That headline was a maximum advertised reduction, not a saving applied uniformly to every product. The useful question is which products offered good value after considering age, specifications, ownership costs and competing prices.

What the 2025 Currys Boxing Day sale actually was
The underlying article was published on Friday, 26 December 2025. It was an editorial selection of 22 advertised offers, rather than a complete Currys catalogue or an independent audit of every discount. The promotion included products described as part of Currys’ Boxing Day or Epic Deals activity, but the available evidence does not establish one universal end date, identical terms or identical availability for all 22 items.

Prices, stock, delivery options and bundles could change during the event. “Save up to 40%” should therefore be read as promotional language for the largest advertised reduction. It does not prove that every product was 40% cheaper, that every saving was against a meaningful recent selling price, or that Currys was the cheapest UK retailer.

The strongest-looking deals from the list
The original feature covered 22 products, but the available source material does not provide independently verified exact model numbers, full price histories and complete competitor prices for every item. The products below are the named examples for which the dossier supplies useful pricing or specification information. Do not treat unlisted prices as current.
| Product | Historical price information | Best for | Verdict |
|---|---|---|---|
| Hisense U7Q Mini-LED TV | Source article claimed £300 off | Gaming and HDR viewing | Potentially compelling if the exact size, model suffix and final price checked out |
| Samsung laptop | Source snippet claimed £650 off | Everyday work and study | Check the precise Core Ultra 7 configuration and manufacturer battery estimate |
| Apple MacBook Air M2 | Historical discounted configuration: 13-inch, 16GB RAM, 256GB storage | Lightweight macOS productivity | Only attractive if substantially cheaper than newer Apple-silicon models |
| HP OmniBook 5 | 15.6-inch, Core i3, 8GB RAM and 512GB storage | Basic home and study use | 8GB RAM limits heavier multitasking; buy only at a genuinely low price |
| Dyson V11 | Source stated £299 at Currys | Everyday cordless cleaning | Worth considering if battery health, attachments and warranty are confirmed |
| Dyson Airwrap i.d. | Source claimed £130 off | Multi-styling hair tools | Bundle contents and model generation are essential to the comparison |
| Amazon Echo Dot | Below £30; an earlier cited low was £21.99 | Low-cost smart-home entry | Discounted, but not necessarily exceptional value at that price |
Best TV deal: the Hisense U7Q Mini-LED
The source article presented the Hisense U7Q as a standout TV, citing a £300 reduction and features including Mini-LED backlighting, Dolby Vision, HDR10+, 4K resolution at up to 144Hz and AMD FreeSync Premium Pro. Those claims describe the product’s appeal; they do not by themselves prove that the Boxing Day price was a record low.

Check first: screen size, HDMI 2.1 inputs, variable-refresh-rate support, brightness, viewing angles, speaker quality and the smart-TV operating system. A 144Hz panel matters mainly to PC or console gamers with hardware capable of using it. For ordinary TV viewing, processing, contrast and app support may matter more.
Rank #2
- Breathtaking picture: Sharp 4K brings out rich detail on our 55" flat screen TV, while the QLED screen and HDR10 create bright, accurate colors. Roku Smart Picture cleans up incoming TV signals, optimizes them, and chooses the right picture mode.
- Seamless streaming: With fast Wi-Fi and apps that launch in a snap, Roku Select Series TVs get you to your entertainment quickly. You get excellent picture quality, clear sound, automatic updates, and more. It’s simple to use. Hard to outgrow.
- TV, simplified: With setup that only takes minutes, a simple-to-navigate Home Screen, and an uncluttered remote control that does all you need—Roku makes it easier to watch the TV you love.
- A world of free entertainment: Enjoy a huge selection of free live TV, news, sports, movies, shows, and much more—all just a click away.
- More streaming, less searching: With personalized picks right on your Home Screen, quick access to the sports and entertainment you watch most, and fast and easy search in one place—the days of endless scrolling are over.
Compare the exact model suffix with Amazon UK, Argos and John Lewis. Include delivery in the comparison, and do not assume a similarly named screen is the same size or specification.
Laptops: attractive discounts can hide old hardware
Samsung: potentially strong, but verify the configuration
The Samsung deal was described as a 15.6-inch laptop with an Intel Core Ultra 7 processor, 16GB of RAM and 512GB of storage, with a claimed £650 reduction. The cited battery figure—up to 31 hours—is a manufacturer-style maximum and should not be interpreted as typical mixed-use battery life.
That combination is suitable for office work, study, browsing and general multitasking, but buyers should confirm the exact processor model, screen brightness and resolution, weight, ports, operating-system edition and return terms. A large nominal saving is less persuasive if the display is dim, the chassis is heavy or the comparison price reflects an old configuration.
MacBook Air M2: good hardware, harder to justify at the wrong price
The 13-inch MacBook Air M2 configuration included 16GB of RAM and 256GB of storage. It was already an older-generation recommendation in a market containing newer Apple silicon. The 16GB memory is useful for longevity, but 256GB can fill quickly with photos, creative files and applications.
Buy if: the historical price created a clear gap below newer MacBooks and your work is compatible with macOS.

HP OmniBook 5 and the OLED laptop
The HP OmniBook 5 configuration listed a 15.6-inch display, Intel Core i3, 8GB RAM and 512GB storage. It is a basic productivity machine, not a natural choice for demanding editing, development or heavy multitasking. The 8GB memory is the main limitation.
Another listed configuration used a 14-inch OLED display, Intel Core Ultra 5, 16GB RAM and 512GB storage. OLED can provide stronger contrast and richer blacks, but check brightness, reflections, battery impact and burn-in-related warranty language before choosing it over a conventional panel.
The Asus Zenbook 14 OLED example must not be presented as a Currys deal: the source material places that offer at AO. It was described as having a Core Ultra 7 processor, 32GB RAM and a 1TB SSD. Check AO separately and compare delivery and warranty terms. Retailer attribution is part of the deal, not a minor detail.
Appliances and coffee machines
Ninja Luxe Café
The Ninja Luxe Café was highlighted for multiple grind settings, a burr grinder, 9-bar pressure, a keep-warm function and a cleaning cycle. Those features make it more versatile than a simple pod machine, but they also mean more cleaning and a larger countertop footprint.

Compare the machine price with the ongoing cost of beans, filters, cleaning products and replacement parts. A cheaper machine can become expensive if its accessories are proprietary or difficult to source.
De’Longhi Magnifica Start
The Magnifica Start is a bean-to-cup proposition for shoppers who want freshly ground coffee without manually operating an espresso machine. Check drink options, milk-system cleaning, noise, bean-hopper capacity and the availability and cost of service parts. A discounted purchase price does not remove routine descaling and cleaning costs.
Nespresso Vertuo Pop
The Vertuo Pop was described as offering one-touch brewing, heating in approximately 30 seconds and multiple drink sizes. It is convenient, but Vertuo pods are a continuing expense. Compare the machine bundle, included capsules and long-term pod cost rather than judging the deal solely by the headline reduction.
PerfectDraft and Tefal Easy Fry
The PerfectDraft beer dispenser is a specialist purchase: check keg availability, keg prices, storage requirements and the machine’s space and power needs. The Tefal Easy Fry was listed with an 8.3-litre capacity. That is useful for larger households, but measure your worktop and storage cupboard first. Large air fryers can be awkward to move and may cost more to run if used for small portions.
Floorcare and beauty technology
Dyson V11
The Dyson V11 was listed at £299, with the LCD display showing remaining runtime. That display is useful, but the buying decision also depends on battery condition, included heads, dust-bin size, charging arrangement and the cost of replacement batteries and filters.

At a historical £299, compare the exact bundle with newer Dyson models and competing cordless cleaners from Shark. A model nearing the end of its retail cycle can still be good, but a large reduction may reflect a replacement cycle rather than an unusually low market price.
Shark PowerPro Pet
The Shark recommendation centred on Anti-Hair Wrap technology, Flexology and pet-focused accessories. Those features are relevant to homes with shedding animals, but confirm exactly which tools are included. Retailers can sell variants with similar names and different accessory bundles.
Dyson Airwrap i.d.
The source article claimed £130 off the Dyson Airwrap i.d. That saving cannot be assessed without the exact model, colour and bundle. Check whether the package includes the attachments you need and compare it with Dyson’s own store and other authorised retailers. Do not assume a discounted older bundle is equivalent to the latest package.
Smart-home and low-cost technology
The Amazon Echo Dot was priced below £30 at Currys in the source article, while an earlier low of £21.99 was cited. That makes it a useful example of the difference between “on sale” and “best-ever value”: below £30 may be convenient, but it was not the lowest price referenced.
Check the generation, colour and whether the item is sold and fulfilled by the retailer you expect. For products bought through Amazon UK, seller identity and fulfilment can affect returns and warranty handling.
How to judge any of the 22 deals
- Match the exact model number. Screen size, RAM, storage, colour and included accessories can change the value substantially.
- Compare the delivered price. Add delivery, installation, old-appliance removal and any required accessories.
- Check the product’s age. Older laptops, TVs and vacuums may be discounted because a replacement generation is arriving.
- Separate features from value. A burr grinder, OLED screen or high refresh rate is useful only if it matches your needs.
- Price the ownership. Include pods, beans, filters, batteries, cleaning supplies and subscriptions.
- Compare like for like. Check Currys against AO, Amazon UK, Argos, John Lewis and the manufacturer’s own store, including warranty and bundle differences.
- Read the delivery terms. For large appliances, verify room-of-choice delivery, installation, connection requirements, door reversal and removal of the old item.
- Treat finance and protection separately. Compare the cash price, interest rate, total repayable, promotional period and missed-payment consequences. Optional warranties are not part of the discount.
What to do if you are shopping for the next Currys sale
Do not reuse the December 2025 prices or “record-low” language. Start with the exact model number, record the current price and compare it with recent prices at multiple UK retailers. If an item sells out, look for the same configuration—not merely a similar product name—at AO, Argos, John Lewis, Amazon UK or the manufacturer.
For expensive purchases, waiting for January, Black Friday or another verified seasonal event may be sensible, particularly when the product is older-generation and the discount is not supported by a clear price-history comparison. For a large appliance, a slightly higher price may be worthwhile if delivery, installation, removal and after-sales support are materially better.

The 2025 Currys Boxing Day list was a real editorial round-up of 22 offers, but it is no longer a live shopping list. The most promising categories were TVs, laptops and appliances, while the best individual purchase depended on the exact configuration and market price. The Hisense U7Q, Samsung laptop and Dyson V11 looked like plausible standouts from the supplied details; the M2 MacBook, Echo Dot and coffee machines required more careful price and ownership-cost checks. Use Currys’ current sale page for live availability and verify every price, model, retailer and delivery term before purchasing.
