The Costco salmon recall most likely meant by this headline was announced on October 25, 2024. It covers one lot of Kirkland Signature Smoked Salmon—not all Costco salmon. If you have a twin 12-ounce package, compare its UPC, lot number and best-by date with the details below; do not eat it if they match.
Was Costco salmon recalled for Listeria?
Yes. Acme Smoked Fish Corporation announced a recall of one lot of Kirkland Signature Smoked Salmon after laboratory testing confirmed Listeria monocytogenes on October 21, 2024. The company announced the recall on October 25, 2024, in a notice published by the FDA: Acme Smoked Fish Corporation recalls Kirkland Signature Smoked Salmon because of possible health risk.
The notice said no illnesses linked to the recall had been reported when it was issued. That was the status at that time, not a statement about current case status.

Costco’s U.S. Product Recalls page, checked October 7, 2026, did not list a salmon recall: Costco Product Recalls. That listing does not prove there has been no later communication: FDA notes that its recalls, market withdrawals and safety alerts page is not a complete listing.
