CORSAIR’s K100 RGB Mechanical Gaming Keyboard with CHERRY MX Speed switches appeared in an official US listing at $199.99, down from $289.99—a $90 difference. A later crawl showed the same model at $289.99, so $199.99 is a recorded listing price, not a confirmed live deal. Check the current price, seller and exact switch configuration before buying.
Which Corsair K100 had the price drop?
The observed $199.99 price was for the wired CORSAIR K100 RGB Mechanical Gaming Keyboard with CHERRY MX Speed switches, model CH-912A014-NA. CORSAIR’s official product listing showed that price against $289.99, but a later crawl of the listing showed $289.99 as the current price. The listing did not establish a promotion period or end date, so the $90 reduction should not be treated as a guaranteed offer today. There is also a distinct K100 RGB Optical-Mechanical model with CORSAIR OPX switches, model CH-912A01A-NA. CORSAIR’s listing showed it at $289.99; the CHERRY MX Speed price observation does not establish a discount for the OPX model. Switches and polling rate
CORSAIR lists the CHERRY MX Speed switches with a 1.2 mm actuation distance and the keyboard with a report rate of up to 8,000 Hz. Those figures describe the manufacturer’s specifications; they do not, by themselves, establish a practical gaming advantage or how the switches will feel to an individual typist. The OPX version uses a different switch configuration, so do not assume the CHERRY MX Speed actuation figure applies to it.
Is the Corsair K100 worth it at this price?
At a verified $199.99, the CHERRY MX Speed K100 would be $90 below the $289.99 comparison price shown in CORSAIR’s listing snapshot. Whether that price makes sense depends on whether you will use its extra controls and large layout: six macro keys, dedicated media controls, the programmable wheel and included palm rest are central parts of the package. If you want a wireless keyboard, a compact footprint or fewer dedicated controls, this extended wired model may not suit your setup regardless of the discount.
