Canada’s Wonderland is facing an application from the Competition Bureau over alleged online price advertising that left mandatory processing fees out of the advertised price. Wonderland denied the allegations. The case is not a finding of wrongdoing: Tribunal pages list 2026 hearing dates and a September 14, 2026 order, but the reviewed public material does not disclose the order’s contents or a final outcome.
What the Competition Bureau alleges
On May 5, 2025, the Competition Bureau announced that it had filed an application with the Competition Tribunal against Canada’s Wonderland Company. The Bureau alleges that the park advertised online prices for admission and other items without including mandatory fixed processing fees, so consumers would pay more than the advertised amount. It describes the alleged practice as “drip pricing.” The Bureau’s announcement describes allegations, not a Tribunal finding.
Fees cited in the Bureau’s 2025 account
The Bureau said most non-admission purchases incurred a single $0.99 fee. It said online admission purchases incurred a processing fee starting at $6.99 and rising to $8.99 or $9.99 depending on the number of items. These are amounts in the Bureau’s May 5, 2025 description of the alleged fees; they are not verified current ticket prices or checkout charges.
What the Bureau asked the Tribunal to do
The Bureau sought an order requiring Wonderland to stop the advertising, a monetary penalty, and restitution for affected online purchasers. Those were requested remedies; the announcement does not establish that any of them was granted.

Wonderland’s response and the case’s status
According to Six Flags Entertainment Corporation’s SEC filing, Canada’s Wonderland filed a response on June 19, 2025, denying the allegations. The filing says the parties took part in mediation in March 2026 but did not reach a settlement or resolution.
The filing described an evidentiary hearing in September 2026 and oral argument in October 2026 as scheduled. The Tribunal’s upcoming-hearings page listed sessions for September 14–18 and October 5–6, 2026. Its homepage says it issued an order in the matter on September 14, 2026. The reviewed pages do not say what that order decided, whether the listed hearings proceeded as planned, or whether the proceeding has reached a final decision. The Bureau’s cases and outcomes page lists the Wonderland matter as ongoing.

How drip pricing fits the Bureau’s legal explanation
The Bureau says amendments to the Competition Act explicitly recognizing drip pricing as a harmful business practice came into force on June 23, 2022. In its summary, advertising a price that cannot be obtained because it excludes a mandatory fixed charge is prohibited unless the charge is government-imposed, such as sales tax. This is the Bureau’s explanation of the law, not a ruling on the Wonderland allegations.
Cineplex is context, not a precedent deciding Wonderland’s case
The Bureau’s separate Cineplex case concerned a mandatory $1.50 online booking fee. The Bureau says the Tribunal found Cineplex engaged in drip pricing in September 2024 and ordered a penalty of more than $38.9 million; the Bureau’s May 2025 release rounded that figure to $39 million. Its cases page says the Federal Court of Appeal rejected Cineplex’s appeal on January 21, 2026. Those findings and penalty apply to Cineplex, not Wonderland, and do not determine the outcome of Wonderland’s proceeding.

Is the lawsuit connected to a Wonderland reopening?
The cited case filings and Tribunal pages do not verify a reopening date or link the legal action to a reopening. The case concerns allegations about online prices and fees; the available material does not establish that reopening prompted the application.
