Yes, in limited ways: you can shop online as a guest, visit a club with a member, or use an in-club pharmacy without a membership. Those options do not generally let you enter the warehouse alone and buy general merchandise. Sam’s Club’s rules distinguish accompanied guests from members who can make purchases, and online guest orders carry a surcharge.
Can you shop inside a Sam’s Club without a membership?
For general merchandise, Sam’s Club’s stated guest option is to go with a member. The member may bring up to two guests, must accompany them at all times, and must make the purchase. Sam’s Club’s guest policy says, “ONLY a member may purchase items.” A guest should not expect to check out independently.

That is different from entering alone as a shopper. Sam’s Club’s terms recognize an exception where access is required by law, but do not identify which locations or purchases qualify. The terms state: “Notwithstanding anything to the contrary, consumers are allowed to shop at Sam’s Club without a Sam’s Club membership where required by law.” Check current local law and contact the club before relying on this exception.
Can you order online without a membership?
Sam’s Club offers a Guest Membership for online shopping. It is described as a free trial of the online shopping experience, but guest orders carry a 10% surcharge per online order and do not receive member-only savings. You need a guest account to check out, and some products, services, offers, and promotions are restricted to paid members. See Sam’s Club’s Guest Membership information for current terms.

- Use your Visa Gift Card in the U.S. everywhere Visa debit cards are accepted, including online.
- Guest Membership is for online shopping, not in-club shopping.
- Guests cannot use curbside pickup or Scan & Go.
- The 10% surcharge applies per online order; it is not a membership fee.
Can a nonmember use the Sam’s Club pharmacy?
Yes. Sam’s Club says, “A Sam’s Club membership is not required to use our in-club pharmacy.” This exception applies to pharmacy use; it does not grant access to shop for general merchandise. Prescription management through Sam’s Digital Pharmacy is different: Sam’s Club says it requires a membership registered to the account. Details are on the pharmacy help page.

Check local services before you go
Pharmacy hours and other services vary by club. Sam’s Club location pages show services such as the pharmacy, Café, fuel station, and Optical Center for individual locations. Use the club locator to check the specific location’s available services and hours before traveling.
