Computers are covered by Costco’s 90-day electronics return limit, counted from the day you receive the item—not automatically from the order or purchase date. If your 90 days have passed, contact Costco about your specific transaction; the policy does not guarantee an exception.
How Costco counts the 90 days
Costco’s U.S. return policy lists computers among the electronics that must be returned within 90 days. The period begins on the date the member receives the merchandise. Check the laptop’s delivery date or, for a warehouse purchase, the date you took possession, to work out whether you are within the stated window. Costco’s return policy was published October 2, 2025.
What to do if the 90-day window has passed
The published policy does not describe a general late-return exception or promise acceptance after day 90. You can ask Costco to review your particular order, but approval is not assured. Contact Costco customer service or speak with a returns-counter employee at a warehouse and provide the purchase and receipt details. The policy sets out the general limit; it does not establish how Costco will decide an individual late request.
Where to start a return, based on how you bought the laptop
Purchased at a Costco warehouse
Take the laptop to the returns counter at any Costco warehouse. A receipt and original packaging may help, but Costco says they may not be necessary for warehouse processing. Costco’s warehouse-return guidance directs customers to the returns counter.

Purchased on Costco.com
You can take an online order to a warehouse or start a return through your Costco.com account. To use the online process:
- Sign in at Costco.com.
- Open Orders & Returns.
- Select Return or Replace Items next to the laptop order.
- Follow the prompts. Costco says a return label is typically provided within an hour, or pickup can be scheduled where eligible.
These are Costco’s published online instructions, not a guarantee that a return requested after the 90-day deadline will be approved. Costco’s online return instructions were published March 16, 2026.

Refund and shipping details for Costco.com returns
For online returns processed through Costco.com, Costco says refunds go to the original payment method and include shipping and handling fees, and that return shipping is not charged. Item limitations and additional processing may apply. These details are specific to the Costco.com process; they should not be assumed to describe every warehouse return.
Does Costco’s satisfaction guarantee override the computer deadline?
No such override is promised in the published policy. Costco describes its general merchandise rule as a “Risk-Free 100% Satisfaction Guarantee,” but computers are subject to the stated 90-day electronics limit. The guarantee’s wording is not a basis for assuming a laptop return will be accepted after that period.
