British Airways’ busiest U.S.-touching route in the available calendar-year 2025 ranking is New York JFK–London Heathrow, with 594,000 passengers reported. The dashboard lists the top 10 of 28 routes and reports 3.74 million passengers across all 28; its remaining 18 rows are not available in the surfaced table, so a complete 28-route ranking cannot be established from these figures.
British Airways’ top 10 U.S.-touching routes by passengers
The following figures are rounded values reported by DWU Consulting’s CY 2025 dashboard, retrieved October 8, 2026. They are a third-party snapshot, not an independent recalculation from BTS records.
| Rank | Airport pair | Reported passengers |
|---|---|---|
| 1 | JFK–LHR (New York JFK–London Heathrow) | 594,000 |
| 2 | LAX–LHR (Los Angeles–London Heathrow) | 286,000 |
| 3 | BOS–LHR (Boston–London Heathrow) | 240,000 |
| 4 | SFO–LHR (San Francisco–London Heathrow) | 225,000 |
| 5 | MIA–LHR (Miami–London Heathrow) | 213,000 |
| 6 | IAD–LHR (Washington Dulles–London Heathrow) | 204,000 |
| 7 | ORD–LHR (Chicago O’Hare–London Heathrow) | 187,000 |
| 8 | MCO–LGW (Orlando–London Gatwick) | 149,000 |
| 9 | EWR–LHR (Newark–London Heathrow) | 147,000 |
| 10 | SEA–LHR (Seattle–London Heathrow) | 140,000 |
Heathrow is the destination for the first seven listed routes. Orlando–Gatwick appears eighth, the only Gatwick route in the visible top 10. The dashboard reports 28 distinct routes and 3.74 million total route passengers for CY 2025, but does not show the other 18 route totals or their order. The total is therefore best treated as a dashboard-reported figure, not a sum reconstructed from the displayed rows. DWU Consulting’s route dashboard.
What “passengers” means in this ranking
The appropriate official data foundation for this kind of ranking is the U.S. Bureau of Transportation Statistics’ T-100 Segment data. BTS describes the all-carrier series as nonstop segment data and includes passengers transported, capacity, departures, aircraft hours and load factor. Its international-segment documentation describes passenger counts as passengers enplaned at the origin and deplaned at the destination. That is a segment count, not a count of unique people or complete U.S.–UK journeys. Someone connecting onward can be counted on more than one flight segment, and the segment figure alone does not reveal the passenger’s ultimate destination. It should not be read as the number of travelers whose entire trip began in the United States and ended in the United Kingdom.
Why this is a top-10 snapshot, not a full 28-route ranking
The dashboard identifies 28 routes for CY 2025, but the search-visible table supplies only the first 10. The available figures do not establish the remaining routes’ totals, their rank order, or the dashboard’s exact counting rules. Listing all 28 would require retrieving and aggregating the underlying records rather than filling gaps by inference.

A reproducible full ranking would need consistent rules for the calendar-year filter, British Airways operating-carrier records, airport-pair identity and treatment of both directions. It would also need to distinguish BA-operated traffic from partner-operated flights. British Airways notes that some flights displayed in its timetable may be operated by partner airlines; a marketed or code-share listing alone does not show that BA operated the segment. Check the British Airways timetable and network information for current service details, while treating it as schedule information rather than evidence for these passenger counts.
Independent reader supportYour contribution helps us test, update, and keep practical guides available for everyone. How current is the CY 2025 snapshot?
The dashboard says its annual T-100 series is refreshed monthly and typically appears with a two-to-three-month publishing lag. BTS cautions that traffic data can be revised, so the reported CY 2025 ranking may change as records are updated. For time-sensitive comparisons, check the official BTS release and state the retrieval date alongside the year. BTS’s Data Bank 20 page lists system-level measures such as enplanements, passenger-miles, seat-miles and load factors; those measures are not substitutes for BA route-level passenger counts.
