Brazil had planted 14% of its expected 2025/26 soybean area by the Thursday before October 13, 2025, according to AgRural data reported by Reuters. That was the third-fastest pace for that date—not a current estimate for the 2026/27 crop.
What the 14% figure measures
The figure tracks the share of Brazil’s expected soybean area already planted for the 2025/26 season. Reuters reported that private consultancies expected the area to exceed 48 million hectares. The 14% estimate was up from 9% one week earlier and compared with 8% at the same point in the previous year. AgRural described the pace as the third-fastest for that date. Reuters report republished by Agriculture.com, October 14, 2025.
Where planting was advancing
In its 2025 report, Reuters said progress in Mato Grosso was better than expected and Paraná was at a record pace. These state-level observations refer to the 2025/26 season and should not be combined with later reports about a different crop year.
Why early soybean planting matters for the crop calendar
Reuters noted that planting soybeans early can leave time to plant second-crop corn within its ideal climate window after the soybean harvest. The report also said first-crop corn was the immediate focus. This is a possible scheduling benefit; planting progress alone does not establish soybean yields or final production.

How the 2026/27 season compares
A separate AgRural update published September 28, 2026, put 2026/27 soybean planting at 3.4% of estimated area by September 24. That was up from 1.2% a week earlier and compared with 3.2% at the same point a year before. In that season, Paraná led early planting while irregular rainfall delayed progress in Mato Grosso. These figures are not a revision of the historical 2025/26 14% estimate. AgRural, September 28, 2026.

Best Value
- HEIRLOOM VARIETY & HIGH YIELD: Outsidepride soy bean seeds is a robust heirloom strain known for its high yield, producing over 3 bushels per acre more than the popular Manokin variety, making it a valuable choice for maximizing harvest output. This variety is perfect for outdoor gardening enthusiasts looking to optimize their yard space.
- RICH IN PROTEIN & OIL WITH VERSATILE USES: Containing about 18% oil and 38% protein, this soybean variety is perfect for producing high-quality soy bean oil and protein-rich meal. These soybeans can be processed into a wide range of products, including soy milk powder, soy flour, soy protein, tofu, and various industrial non-food products, showcasing its versatility. Ideal for making various soy-based meals such as edamame snacks.
- OPTIMAL PLANTING GUIDELINES FOR MAXIMUM YIELD: For best results, plant soybean seeds at a depth of 0.75 to 1.5 inches, with row spacing between 7.5 and 15 inches, depending on soil type and tillage. This ensures uniform seed placement and optimal growth, adapting well to midwestern states and capturing a significant percentage of non-GMO acres.
- HIGH-PROTEIN ANIMAL FEED: The high-protein fiber left after oil extraction is ideal for animal feed, particularly for poultry and swine industries, which consume over half of the processed soybean meal. This meal is also crucial for cattle, other farm animals, and pets, ensuring they receive the necessary nutrients for growth and development. A great addition to feed mixes for cowpeas and other legumes.
- ECONOMIC AND NUTRITIONAL: As the most economically important bean globally, soybeans provide essential vegetable protein for millions and are key ingredients in hundreds of chemical products. A 60-pound bushel of our soybeans seed yields about 11 pounds of crude soybean oil and 47 pounds of soybean meal. Beneficial for producing shelf-stable goods for long-term use.
