“Brian Cox net worth” can refer to two well-known people: Scottish actor Brian Cox, who played Logan Roy in Succession, or English physicist and science broadcaster Professor Brian Cox. Celebrity Net Worth estimates the actor’s net worth at $15 million; that figure is not a verified disclosure and does not apply to the physicist.

What is actor Brian Cox’s estimated net worth?

Celebrity Net Worth lists Scottish actor Brian Cox at $15 million. The site says its net-worth figures are estimates based on public sources, and its page does not state a publication year. Treat the amount as an attributed estimate, not an audited balance sheet or a figure Cox has publicly confirmed. Celebrity Net Worth’s Brian Cox profile does not provide a transparent calculation that would independently establish the total.

Which Brian Cox does the estimate describe?

The estimate is for the Scottish actor, known for playing Logan Roy in Succession. It is not for Professor Brian Cox, the English physicist and science broadcaster. The two share a name, but their careers and the available evidence about their finances are different.

The actor

The actor’s career includes film, television and stage work. Kellogg College at the University of Oxford identifies him as an actor and notes that his autobiography, Putting the Rabbit in the Hat, was published in 2021. The book offers personal career context; its publication is not evidence for a particular net-worth figure. See the college’s Brian Cox profile.

The physicist and broadcaster

Professor Brian Cox is a physics professor and science broadcaster. The American Physical Society describes his physics studies at Manchester, his PhD in particle physics, work on CERN’s ATLAS experiment, and science programs and books. The Royal Society identifies him as Professor of Particle Physics at the University of Manchester and The Royal Society Professor for Public Engagement in Science, as well as a member of the ATLAS Collaboration. Those professional biographies document his work, but neither gives a net-worth figure. The sources reviewed do not substantiate a reliable public estimate for him.

Why the $15 million estimate should be treated cautiously

Net worth is generally calculated as assets minus liabilities, but the estimate page does not disclose a method, itemized assets or debts, or a formal financial statement for Cox. Public career information alone cannot verify a person’s wealth, and the estimate should not be read as salary, cash holdings or a guaranteed current total. No reviewed source provides an audited balance sheet or formal wealth disclosure for either Brian Cox.

A University of Missouri-hosted result gives the physicist a £1 million to £5 million range, but the official biographies reviewed do not corroborate it. It is not a sound basis for stating his net worth.
