What the February 26 deadline meant
Contemporaneous reports said the Bihar Public Service Commission (BPSC) extended the TRE 3 application deadline to February 26, 2024, with no late fee. A follow-up report on February 26 said registration would close that day. This was a deadline for the 2024 recruitment cycle, not an open application period today. Posts and vacancies reported for TRE 3
Scroll.in described recruitment for School Teacher posts in Classes 1–5, 6–8, 9–10 and 11–12, as well as Special School Teacher posts for Classes 9–10 under Bihar’s Education Department. The report gave a total of 87,774 vacancies. That figure is the reported recruitment total; consult the original advertisement for authoritative post counts and conditions.
Where to check current BPSC teacher recruitment
As of October 8, 2026, the BPSC portal listing shows a School Teacher TRE 4 advertisement and an October 26, 2026 last date. Start at the official BPSC website and open the current advertisement for the controlling deadline, eligibility, application instructions and any corrections. Do not rely on the old TRE 3 fee or application instructions for a different cycle.

The BPSC examination calendar includes TRE-4 but cautions that calendar dates are tentative. Treat calendar entries as planning information, not guaranteed examination dates; check BPSC notices for changes.
What happened after TRE 3 applications closed
A BPSC-hosted TRE 3 answer-key record identifies an examination dated July 20, 2024, further confirming that the February 2024 deadline belonged to an earlier cycle. The record is available through the BPSC notices listing. For historical application details, including the exact notice and any amendments, use the original TRE 3 advertisement rather than assuming that later cycles share its rules.
