The BSF recruitment notice reported in June 2024 covered a combined CAPF and Assam Rifles recruitment for ministerial and stenographer roles—not 1,526 BSF-only vacancies. Scroll reported 1,526 posts and a last date to apply of July 8, 2024. That application window has closed.
What the 2024 recruitment covered
Despite the BSF-focused headline, Scroll described a combined examination for posts across the Central Armed Police Forces (CAPFs) and Assam Rifles. The CAPF roles were Assistant Sub Inspector (Stenographer/Combatant Stenographer) and Head Constable (Ministerial/Combatant Ministerial). The Assam Rifles roles were Warrant Officer (Personal Assistant) and Havildar (Clerk). Scroll’s June 10, 2024 announcement reported the recruitment details.
Reported vacancy total and split
Scroll reported 1,526 posts in total: 1,283 Head Constable (Ministerial) posts and 243 ASI (Stenographer) posts. The reported total applies to the combined recruitment; it should not be read as a count of BSF vacancies alone.

Last date to apply and reported fee
Scroll reported that online applications were due by July 8, 2024, through rectt.bsf.gov.in. That deadline is historical, not an open application date.
Scroll also reported a ₹100 examination fee, with women, SC/ST candidates and eligible ex-servicemen exempt. It said applicable service charges remained payable by all candidates. Because the linked official notification was inaccessible, treat these fee details as reported by Scroll rather than independently verified official policy.

What is known about eligibility
The official notification linked in Scroll’s announcement returned a 403 Forbidden error when accessed for verification. A contemporaneous secondary listing associates the recruitment with typing and stenography-related skills, but it does not establish the complete eligibility rules. HPExams.in’s June 5, 2024 listing is secondary corroboration, not a substitute for the official notice.
On the available evidence, specific age limits, age relaxations, education requirements, skill-test standards, selection stages, pay levels and force-wise vacancy allocations cannot be stated reliably. Do not assume that details from another recruitment cycle apply to this one.

Do not confuse this with the 2026 GD recruitment
This article concerns the 2024 ministerial and stenographer recruitment. It is separate from the SSC Constable (GD) and Rifleman (GD) Examination 2026 notice. The latter is a different recruitment and does not reopen the July 2024 application window. SSC’s notice for the 2026 GD examination relates to that separate cycle.
