Public salary estimates do not establish a definitive Blackburn Rovers top earner for every season. For the five most recently completed seasons as of 8 October 2026—2021/22 through 2025/26—SalarySport and SalaryLeaks disagree on the reported leader in 2021/22, 2023/24 and 2024/25. The figures below are estimates from those publishers, not salaries confirmed by the club.
Reported top earners by season
The table compares the season-level leaders surfaced from SalarySport and SalaryLeaks. A disagreement means the providers name different players and report different weekly figures; it should not be resolved by averaging their estimates.
| Season | Publisher | Reported leader | Reported weekly figure |
|---|---|---|---|
| 2021/22 | SalarySport | Deyovaisio Zeefuik | £18,000 |
| 2021/22 | SalaryLeaks | Daniel Ayala | Estimated £15,000 |
| 2022/23 | SalarySport | Bradley Dack | £18,000 |
| 2023/24 | SalarySport | Arnór Sigurðsson | £18,000 |
| 2023/24 | SalaryLeaks | John Fleck | Estimated £20,000 |
| 2024/25 | SalarySport | Balázs Tóth | £22,000 |
| 2024/25 | SalaryLeaks | Todd Cantwell | Estimated £30,000 |
| 2025/26 | SalaryLeaks | Todd Cantwell | Estimated £30,000 (£1.6 million per year) |
SalarySport’s named weekly figures are its own estimates, accessed in 2026. SalaryLeaks labels its figures as estimates. The available evidence supplies one named provider for 2022/23 and 2025/26, so those entries are not independently corroborated by a second surfaced list.
Why the estimates are not confirmed salaries
No surfaced official Blackburn Rovers source breaks out pay by named player for these seasons. SalarySport describes wages and publishes estimated squad totals, while SalaryLeaks provides a separate set of estimates. Their figures may use different definitions of salary, squad membership or compensation, so a difference between providers is not proof that either figure reflects a contract.
#1 Best Overall
- Football Club Logo design.
- Lightweight, Classic fit, Double-needle sleeve and bottom hem
SalarySport’s 2024/25 page lists a £18,073,484 annual wage bill across 62 players and names Tóth at £22,000 a week as its highest earner. That figure and leader belong to SalarySport’s estimate, not an official club disclosure.
Fixed salary estimates also need not represent a player’s full compensation. Capology says its estimated fixed-salary figures exclude image-rights income, commercial deals, bonuses and other benefits. The precise inclusions can vary by provider, so weekly numbers from different sites should not be treated as directly comparable measures of total pay.

Player wages are not the club’s total staff costs
Blackburn’s reported 2024/25 staff costs were £38,096,621, according to SalarySport’s summary of the club accounts. That is a broader payroll category, not a first-team player wage bill: it includes players, coaching staff, the academy and other people working at the ground. It should not be compared directly with SalarySport’s estimated player-wage total of £18,073,484, which covers a different population and is an estimate rather than the same accounts measure.
SalarySport explains the scope of the accounts category as: “Staff costs are the whole payroll and not just the first team: players, coaching staff, the academy and everyone working at the ground.”

How to read the season-by-season comparison
- Three seasons have conflicting surfaced leaders: 2021/22, 2023/24 and 2024/25. Keep both publishers’ names and amounts attached to those entries.
- One provider is surfaced for 2022/23: SalarySport reports Bradley Dack at £18,000 a week.
- One provider is surfaced for 2025/26: SalaryLeaks estimates Todd Cantwell at £30,000 a week, or £1.6 million a year.
- These are provider estimates, not a verified ranking: neither the weekly amounts nor the season labels establish contract terms or full compensation.
