Bitcoin rebounded to $82,837 on Friday, October 9, 2026, after dipping to $80,427 the day before. At the time of Decrypt’s report, Myriad prediction-market traders assigned a 67% probability to Bitcoin trading at or below $80,000 at some point in October. That is a market price for a specific event—not a guarantee, a broad analyst consensus, or proof that traders as a whole expect prices to fall.
What Bitcoin recovered—and what the October odds said
Decrypt reported that Bitcoin rose 1.38% to $82,837 on Friday, October 9, after reaching $80,427 on Thursday, its lowest level since early September. The figures describe that dated move, not a live price. The report identified $83,000 as a test zone, citing Bitwise Europe’s Luke Deans, who said it aligned with the average ETF cost basis and the prior higher-high level. It also identified $84,433 as another zone and $87,354.33, the September high, as a level buyers would need to close above. These were the article’s technical reference points, not guaranteed support or resistance. Decrypt

As reported by Decrypt on October 9, Myriad’s October market priced in a 67% chance that Bitcoin would trade at or below $80,000 at some point during the month. The reported probabilities were 40% for $77,500 and 24% for $75,000. A separate weekly Myriad market put the chance of ending that week above $87,500 at 49%. These are different outcomes and time horizons; taken together, they show a range of expectations rather than a single directional call. Decrypt reported that Myriad is owned by its parent company, Dastan.

Prediction markets measure a defined event
Myriad’s October figures were probabilities attached to whether Bitcoin would reach specified prices during a set period. They are not a forecast of the month-end price, and the cited reports do not establish that the probabilities were independently validated or representative of all traders.

Options readings depended on the date and measure
In its September 30 report, Deribit Insights, drawing on Block Scholes analysis, described Bitcoin consolidating between $82,000 and $84,000 after touching $86,000 the previous week. It also noted more than seven consecutive days of inflows into spot Bitcoin and Ethereum ETFs at that earlier point. Its short-dated 25-delta skew reading was mixed: demand for downside protection alternated with positioning for a possible rally as traders assessed the macro backdrop. The measure compares implied volatility for 25-delta calls and puts, indicating relative demand for upside versus downside options—not a simple headcount of bullish or bearish traders. Deribit Insights
Glassnode’s October 7 analysis offered a more bullish options reading. Bitcoin options open-interest and traded-volume put/call ratios were below one and in the lower third of their 2026 ranges. Open interest represented about 0.56 puts per call, and average daily spending on calls exceeded spending on puts by about $17 million over 30 days. These are Glassnode’s measures and interpretation for that period; they do not cancel out other signs of weak spot demand. Glassnode

Spot demand and participation remained a concern
Glassnode described spot volume as subdued and said new money explained less than two-fifths of the increase in realized cap. It also reported substantial profit-taking by recent buyers around the October 4 close above $85,000. Its takeaway was that “The market now leans on positioning more than on fresh demand.” That assessment is a dated interpretation of market data, not a prediction that prices must decline.

What flows, rates and liquidity levels can—and cannot—tell you
Decrypt reported Bitcoin ETF outflows of $484.9 million on Wednesday and $244 million on Thursday, describing Wednesday as the worst day since June 25. Its report also cited a 10-year Treasury yield of 5.32% and Federal Reserve minutes that it said pointed to another rate hike by year-end. These were contemporaneous figures and context; they do not establish that ETF flows, Treasury yields or Fed expectations caused Bitcoin’s decline. Decrypt

Glassnode’s October 7 models showed potential liquidation concentrations on both sides of the market. Nearby lower clusters were around $81,700–$83,300, with another near $75,000; the largest one-year cluster was above price, spanning roughly $87,100–$95,900 and heaviest near $92,000. Its Binance order-book snapshot also showed a bid block at $81,000–$81,250 and an ask block at $86,500–$86,750. These model and venue-specific observations can change quickly; they are not guaranteed targets or reliable price floors and ceilings. Glassnode said its data cutoffs varied by measure through October 7 and that the latest daily data could be revised.

How to read the evidence if you are following Bitcoin
- Keep the time horizon attached. A probability of touching a level during October is not the same as a probability of finishing the month there.
- Separate market types. Prediction markets price a defined event; options metrics reflect relative pricing or positioning; spot volume and ETF flows describe participation; liquidation maps and order books identify modeled or venue-specific liquidity.
- Treat levels as snapshots. The prices and liquidity clusters in the October 7 and October 9 reports are historical reference points, not current trading guidance.
- Do not infer consensus from one platform. The Myriad probabilities reported by Decrypt show what that market priced at the time, while options data and demand indicators offered different signals.
