Best Buy’s 2026 Presidents’ Day Sale Cut Samsung OLED TVs by Up to $1,100

Best Buy’s February 2026 Presidents’ Day sale listed Samsung’s 65-inch S84F OLED for $899.99 and S90F for $1,399.99. The promotion has ended; here’s how the offers compared and what to check now.

Historical deal: February 16, 2026. Best Buy’s Presidents’ Day promotion has ended, so the prices below are not confirmed current offers. The sale listed a 65-inch Samsung S84F OLED at $899.99 and a 65-inch S90F at $1,399.99. Best Buy described each as $1,100 off a comparable value. The broader OLED sale advertised discounts of up to $1,300, but that larger figure did not apply to the Samsung sets cited in the sale coverage.

Samsung and other OLED prices during the sale

These are the prices and savings reported for Best Buy’s U.S. Presidents’ Day promotion on February 16, 2026. The listed savings use a reference or comparable value; they do not establish that each television normally sold at that price.

Model Size Sale price Listed saving Platform or notable feature
Samsung S84F OLED 65 in. $899.99 $1,100 Tizen; 4K/120Hz; HDR10+
Samsung S90F OLED 65 in. $1,399.99 $1,100 Tizen; higher-tier Samsung OLED
Panasonic 55Z85AP OLED Fire TV 55 in. $699.99 $148 Fire TV; Dolby Vision; HDR10+
LG B5 OLED 55 in. $899.99 $600 webOS
LG B5 OLED 65 in. $999.99 $1,000 webOS
LG C5 OLED 65 in. $1,399.99 $1,300 webOS
Sony Bravia XR8B OLED 65 in. $1,399.99 $600 Google TV

Prices and listed savings are from HotHardware’s February 16, 2026 sale report. Screen size matters when comparing the amounts: the $699.99 Panasonic and $899.99 55-inch LG were smaller than the 65-inch Samsung offers.

Why the S84F was the value pick among Samsung’s offers

At its reported sale price, the 65-inch S84F was the less expensive Samsung option: it put an OLED screen and 4K/120Hz gaming capability below $900. It was the clearest value choice for shoppers whose priorities were screen size, OLED contrast, Samsung’s Tizen platform, and a lower outlay—not proof that it delivered the best picture of the models on sale.

What the 65-inch S84F offers

The U.S. 65-inch model is QN65S84FAEXZA. Best Buy identifies it as a 2025 4K OLED television with a 120Hz refresh rate, Tizen, HDR10+, an NQ4 AI Gen2 processor, 4K AI upscaling, and Pantone validation. Best Buy lists four HDMI inputs and seven years of automatic operating-system updates for the model. Samsung’s available product-family page is for the 77-inch S84F, so check the exact 65-inch listing for size-specific details rather than assuming every specification transfers unchanged.

For gaming, the sale coverage identifies 4K/120Hz and variable refresh rate support. That is a useful starting point, not independent testing of input lag or image quality. Before buying, confirm that the particular HDMI port, console or PC, and any receiver, soundbar, or switch in the signal chain support the resolution, refresh rate, HDR, and VRR combination you intend to use.

The HDR-format trade-off

The S84F supports HDR10+, but the cited coverage identifies lack of Dolby Vision support as a limitation. HDR10+ is a separate dynamic-HDR format, not a substitute for Dolby Vision compatibility. If you specifically want Dolby Vision playback from supported apps, devices, or discs, this Samsung is a poor fit; check the television and source-device specifications together before choosing.

OLED can deliver deep blacks and strong contrast, especially in a controlled-light room. It is not automatically the right choice for a bright room with difficult reflections, and prolonged repetitive static images can pose an image-retention or burn-in concern. Consider your room, viewing distance, daily use, and sound setup alongside the panel type.

What the S90F’s higher price did—and did not—establish

The 65-inch S90F was reported at $1,399.99, with a listed $1,100 saving. It was positioned above the S84F in Samsung’s lineup, but the sale report did not provide head-to-head measurements establishing how much better it is, or whether its advantages justify the extra $500 for a particular viewer. Consider it if you are willing to spend more for a higher-tier model, then compare independent tests of brightness, processing, gaming performance, and HDR before paying the premium.

How the competing OLEDs fit different buyers

LG B5: an important alternative for Dolby Vision

The 65-inch B5 was listed at $999.99—$100 above the S84F’s historical price—while the 55-inch version was $899.99. LG’s webOS and Dolby Vision support make it a meaningful alternative for buyers who prioritize that format or prefer LG’s platform. The sale prices alone do not establish which set performs better.

LG C5: a higher-priced comparison

The 65-inch C5 was listed at $1,399.99, the same sale price as the S90F, with a stated $1,300 saving. Compare the exact models and independent measurements rather than treating the two televisions as interchangeable: their picture processing, brightness, gaming features, and HDR support may matter differently depending on use.

Sony Bravia XR8B: Google TV preference

The 65-inch Sony was also listed at $1,399.99. Google TV may suit viewers invested in Google services, and Sony’s image processing is a reason some buyers consider its televisions. The cited sale information does not establish a performance advantage over Samsung or LG.

Panasonic Z85A: smaller and less expensive

The 55-inch Panasonic 55Z85AP was listed at $699.99 and supports Dolby Vision, HDR10+, and Fire TV. It was the lowest-priced OLED in the cited group, but its smaller size makes it an imperfect price comparison with the 65-inch sets. Fire TV is a plus for some Amazon users and a drawback for those who prefer Tizen, webOS, or Google TV.

How to judge a claimed TV discount

A listed saving compares the sale price with a reference or comparable value; it is not by itself proof of a television’s usual street price. Best Buy’s $1,100 figure for the S84F should therefore be read as the retailer’s stated saving, not a verified claim that shoppers routinely paid $1,999.99 immediately before the promotion.

To assess a later offer, compare the exact model number across reputable retailers and check its price history where available. Separate the new-item price from open-box listings, local pickup or delivery, and any required membership or checkout condition. The February price is a historical benchmark, not a promise that the same deal will return.

What to verify before ordering a TV

  • Exact model and condition: Confirm the model number, screen size, and whether the listing is new or open-box; an open-box price is not the same offer as a new television.
  • Local fulfillment: Check your ZIP code for pickup and delivery availability, delivery charges, and whether the listing is sold by Best Buy or another seller.
  • Full ownership cost: Review installation, wall-mounting, old-TV haul-away, and protection-plan charges separately. Service prices and eligibility can change, so check the terms at checkout.
  • Return terms: Read the current return policy and any conditions that apply to the item’s condition or seller.
  • Room and screen fit: Consider viewing distance, brightness, reflections, and whether a 55-inch set is large enough for the room.
  • Connections and formats: Verify the HDMI ports and complete device chain for your gaming setup, and make sure the television supports the HDR format you require.

Is the Samsung S84F deal still available?

No conclusion that the Presidents’ Day price is still available can be drawn from the historical sale report. Best Buy’s product page has shown different recent prices—$949.99 in one crawl and $899.99 in another—and availability varied by location. Those snapshots do not confirm a nationwide live offer on August 18, 2026. Check the Best Buy S84F product page with your location selected for the current listing and fulfillment options.

For specifications, Best Buy’s 65-inch S84F listing identifies SKU 6643538. Samsung’s S84F product-family page provides manufacturer information for the 77-inch model; confirm size-specific specifications against the exact set you are considering.
