Age on the stated cutoff date
The general age range was 18 to 40 years as of January 1, 2024—born on or after January 1, 1984 and on or before January 1, 2006. The upper-age relaxation was five years for SC, ST(P) and ST(H) candidates, three years for OBC/MOBC candidates, and an additional two years for ex-servicemen. The notice said date of birth would be verified from the matriculation or equivalent certificate.
Education and additional qualification

How applications worked—and why you cannot apply now
Applications were accepted online through the SLPRB Assam website from February 1 through February 15, 2024. The notice said no other application form would be accepted and that there was no application fee. These dates have passed; the historical application route is not a current way to apply. For a new recruitment, check the current SLPRB Assam notice for its dates and instructions.
Applicants registered using a valid mobile number and received a Recruitment ID. The advertisement warned that multiple Recruitment IDs would lead to cancellation of candidature and instructed candidates to retain access to their registered mobile number during the recruitment process.
Photograph and documents
The uploaded photograph had to be a colour studio photograph on a white background, taken after January 1, 2024, with the face clearly visible. The notice disallowed self-composed mobile-phone portraits. Candidates were to bring the originals of uploaded documents and a set of self-attested photocopies for inspection at PST/PET. Employees of government, a PSU or an autonomous body needed written permission from their employer available for scrutiny.
