Which recruitment and applicants did the Stage II form cover?
This was the Stage II online application for candidates who qualified in the preliminary written test and were advancing to the Physical Measurement Test/Physical Efficiency Test (PMT/PET) in Andhra Pradesh’s SCT Police Constable recruitment. The 2022-notified cycle covered Civil constable posts for men and women and APSP constable posts for men. Scroll described the recruitment as 6,100 posts: 3,580 Civil and 2,520 APSP.

Stage II was not the initial application to sit the preliminary test. The 2022 notification says qualified candidates had to submit the Stage II form and upload scanned certificates or documents before taking part in PMT/PET.

What candidates were asked to do
Scroll’s November 12, 2024 report said candidates could log in using their registration number, SSC hall-ticket number and mobile number, complete and submit the Stage II form, and print a copy for reference. The original notification also required scanned certificates or documents. Those instructions describe the 2024 process, not a live portal or current application opportunity.

Scroll reported that 95,208 candidates had qualified for PMT/PET and 91,507 had registered for Stage II as of its November 12 report. Separately, the board’s December 12 press release said 4,59,182 candidates appeared for the January 22, 2023 preliminary written test and 95,208 qualified. These figures refer to this recruitment cycle, not current applicant totals.
Do not carry the old notification’s terms into a new cycle
The original 2022 notification described a qualifying preliminary written test followed by PMT, PET and a final written examination. It also set out the physical measurements, PET events, medical standards, documents, fees and application steps for that cycle. For example, it stated fees of Rs. 300 for local OC and BC candidates, Rs. 150 for local SC/ST candidates, and Rs. 300 for non-local and EWS candidates. These are historical terms, not verified fees or rules for later recruitment.

For any new application, confirm eligibility, required documents, physical standards, fees, stages and dates in the relevant notification on the Andhra Pradesh State Level Police Recruitment Board website. The New Indian Express reported separate AP police and allied-department recruitment notices in September 2026, including 1,156 constable-related posts among 2,050 posts overall; it said application and preliminary examination dates would be announced separately.
