Amazon India’s 2026 Great Summer Sale began at 12:00 AM on 8 May—not 2 May. The sale has ended, so its advertised discounts and payment offers are historical, not deals you can assume are still available. Amazon announced offers across electronics, appliances, fashion, beauty, home, kitchen and everyday essentials, with additional bank, exchange and Amazon Pay promotions. Check current Amazon.in listings and offer terms before making a purchase decision.
When did the Amazon Great Summer Sale 2026 start?
Amazon India announced that its Great Summer Sale would begin at 12:00 AM on 8 May 2026. The 2 May date in the original title is not supported by Amazon’s announcement. The event is specific to India and Amazon.in; the latest event covered by the available official announcements is now over. Amazon India’s 4 May 2026 announcement provides the event date and advertised offers.

Dates have differed between years, so they should not be treated as a fixed annual schedule. Amazon’s 2025 announcement said that sale would start on 1 May, with Prime early access beginning on 30 April. That 2025 announcement is separate from the 2026 event.
What offers did Amazon advertise for 2026?
Amazon India described the following as Great Summer Sale offers. These are the company’s event announcements, not independently checked savings or current promotions.

Amazon also mentioned exchange offers and promotions on Amazon Bazaar. The announcement does not establish that any particular product received a specific discount, that the advertised maximum applied to every item, or that the offers remain available.
Which categories and brands were included?
Amazon listed smartphones, fashion, beauty, home, kitchen, large appliances, groceries and everyday essentials among the sale categories. Brands named in the announcement included Samsung, Apple, OnePlus, Dell, Haier, Nike, LEGO, Sleepwell and Pampers. A brand or category appearing in the announcement is not a guarantee that a particular listing is in stock or discounted.

In its post-event account, Amazon India said air conditioners, air coolers, refrigerators and cold beverages saw demand amid rising temperatures. It also reported heightened demand for summer-preparation items such as portable blenders, ice cream trays, popsicle makers and hydration accessories. How to judge a deal before buying
A sale badge or headline discount does not, by itself, show that a product is the best-priced option. Before buying, compare the full listing and the final payable amount, including any delivery or installation charges that apply.

- Cooling appliances: compare capacity or suitable room size, energy use, installation requirements, warranty and final delivered price.
- Portable blenders: compare jar capacity, charging method, portability, cleaning requirements, warranty and current delivered price.
- Hydration accessories: compare capacity, material, leak resistance and cleaning requirements.
- Payment promotions: check the eligible card or transaction type, minimum spend, item eligibility and full terms before relying on a bank discount, cashback or EMI offer.
Amazon’s sale announcement says product details and pricing are provided by sellers and that Amazon is not responsible for their accuracy. Verify the seller, exact variant, current price, availability for your delivery location and offer eligibility on Amazon.in before treating a listing as a deal.
What shopping tools did Amazon describe?
Amazon said shoppers could ask its Rufus assistant for personalized suggestions, including prompts such as “suggest summer vacation outfits under ₹5000” and “show me energy efficient ACs”. It also described Lens AI as a way to find products from a photo, and said Rufus included a 30-to-90-day Price History tracker with alerts for a selected target price. The announcement also named AI Review Highlights, Quick Learn and Buying Guides.

These are features Amazon described for shopping discovery. A price-history chart or discount label is useful context, but it does not alone establish that a listing is the best available price; compare the current product, seller and offer terms.

Amazon India’s 25 May 2026 recap said the event generated double-digit year-over-year growth. The figures below are retailer-reported comparisons, not independently verified measures of the wider market or absolute sales volumes.
