October Prime Day’s 2026 event is over, and the UK prices reported for these seven 4K Blu-rays were about 20%–22% below their displayed previous prices—not half off. T3 recorded the prices on October 7, so treat them as a dated snapshot, not offers available today. Check each listing in your market before buying.
What the October Prime Day prices actually showed
Amazon’s 2026 Prime Big Deal Days ran October 6–7 and required Prime membership for event deals, according to Amazon’s event announcement. The event had ended by October 8. T3’s UK roundup, updated October 7, listed seven discs at prices around 20%–22% below the displayed comparison prices. Those figures do not support a half-off claim, and they do not establish current availability, Prime eligibility, or prices outside the UK.
Here are the dated prices T3 reported. The comparison prices and savings are the figures shown in that article; they are not a guarantee that the products are still discounted.
| 4K Blu-ray | Reported UK price | Displayed comparison price | Reported saving |
|---|---|---|---|
| The Batman | £16 | £19.99 | 20% |
| Edge of Tomorrow | £16 | £19.97 | 20% |
| A Complete Unknown | £16 | £19.98 | 20% |
| The Shape of Water | £16 | £19.99 | 20% |
| The Greatest Showman | £16 | £19.99 | 20% |
| The Martian (Extended Edition) | £16 | £19.99 | 20% |
| Blade Runner 2049 | £19.43 | £24.99 | 22% |
All figures in the table are UK prices reported by T3’s October 7, 2026 roundup. They are not verified current prices.

#1 Best Overall
Which films stand out, and why
The picks are a mix of film preferences and audiovisual features noted by T3’s reviewer, not independent test results. If one title is already on your watch list, that may matter more than a modest discount on a film you would not otherwise buy.
- The Batman: T3 highlights its dark palette and visual nuance.
- Edge of Tomorrow: T3 points to the 4K remaster’s contrast and detail, plus its Dolby Atmos mix.
- A Complete Unknown: T3 calls attention to the Dolby Atmos mix.
- The Shape of Water: Included among the seven picks; the roundup does not specify an individual technical feature in the available deal details.
- The Greatest Showman: T3 emphasizes the soundtrack and audiovisual presentation.
- The Martian (Extended Edition): T3 notes its HDR regrade.
- Blade Runner 2049: T3 describes it as a demanding audiovisual showcase.
These are physical discs. The source also mentions the Panasonic DP-UB820 and UB9000 as playback options, but the cited roundup does not establish their current specifications or prices. Check a player’s supported formats and connections against your own setup before purchasing one.
Rank #2
- Return to Pandora for the third chapter of Marine turned Na’vi leader Jake Sully and his family. Reeling from one death, the Sullys set out to prevent another — aided by the Wind Traders. But on the way, they’re attacked by the Ash People, who blame Eywa for their ravaged home. Warning: Some flashing-lights scenes may affect photosensitive viewers.
How to judge a disc deal before you buy
- Check today’s product listing. Confirm the price, stock, edition, delivery costs, and whether a Prime membership is needed. The October event prices above have expired as dated observations; they are not evidence of an offer now.
- Compare the price with its history. Amazon says product-page price history can show up to 365 days of pricing. Its Prime Big Deal Days FAQ recommends using that history to help assess whether a displayed deal is worthwhile.
- Buy for the film and your setup, not the percentage alone. Consider whether you want the movie, whether you have a 4K Blu-ray player, and whether the listing is for the edition you intend to own.
- Check the market you are buying in. The prices here are UK-specific. They do not establish US prices or availability in another country.
When physical media makes sense
A discounted disc can be a straightforward purchase if you want a permanent copy of a particular film and have equipment that can play it. The price snapshot cannot establish whether a disc is better value than streaming for your own viewing habits: that depends on the current purchase price, what you already subscribe to, and how often you expect to watch it. Avoid treating the old event comparison price as a saving unless the current listing and price history support that conclusion.
