The available sources do not establish how many subscribers canceled. And the claim that Disney viewing dropped does not match Disney’s own account: the company said viewing of its networks in YouTube TV households was up more than 15% year over year during the dispute, a company-reported figure with a limited scope.
Are Disney channels still unavailable on YouTube TV?
No. Disney programming went dark on YouTube TV when the companies’ previous distribution agreement expired on October 30, 2025. On November 14, Disney announced a multi-year agreement with YouTube and said its full suite of networks had begun to be restored. Disney’s announcement included ESPN networks, ABC and Disney-branded channels, along with Freeform, FX and National Geographic. Disney’s agreement announcement confirms the restoration and describes the deal as multi-year.
The announced deal also said select YouTube offerings may include a Disney+ and Hulu bundle. That is distinct from access to YouTube TV’s live channels: on-demand streaming is not a substitute for live ESPN, ABC or the full linear network lineup.
Did YouTube TV subscribers cancel over the dispute?
The sources available for this article do not establish how many YouTube TV customers canceled because of the blackout. A warning about possible cancellations is not a cancellation count. In October 2025, the Associated Press described YouTube TV as having more than 9 million subscribers, but that is a dated contemporaneous estimate—not a current audited total. The AP’s October 2025 report covered the blackout and subscriber scale.

YouTube said on October 23, 2025, before the channels went dark, that it would offer subscribers a one-time $20 credit if Disney content remained unavailable for an extended period. The offer was conditional; it was not a recurring bill reduction. YouTube’s statement announced the proposed credit and warned that Disney content could be removed if the companies did not reach an agreement.
Did Disney viewing drop during the feud?
There is no independent viewing measurement in the cited sources establishing that Disney viewing dropped during the dispute. In its October 31, 2025 account, Disney said viewership of its networks in YouTube TV households was up more than 15% year over year. That is Disney’s claim about viewing within those households; it does not establish a trend in Disney viewing overall or independently verify the figure. Disney’s October 31 statement gives the company’s account of the dispute and its viewing claim.

What did the blackout cost Disney?
Disney later reported that the temporary suspension reduced operating income in its Sports segment by approximately $110 million in fiscal Q1 2026. That is Disney’s company-reported estimate for the quarter, not a count of lost YouTube TV subscribers or a measure of Disney-wide viewing. Disney’s fiscal Q1 2026 earnings release reports the segment impact.

Availability and package terms can change. Confirm them with the provider before switching, and treat an on-demand bundle as separate from a live-TV channel package.
