Re:

You Can Get a Pixel 10 Pro for Free—But Only Through Carrier Bill Credits

A Pixel 10 Pro can cost $0 after carrier credits, but plan charges, trade-ins, taxes and a 24- or 36-month commitment determine whether the deal saves money.

Yes: as of August 16, 2026, T-Mobile and AT&T advertise ways to get a Pixel 10 Pro for an effective $0 device cost. Neither is a no-strings-attached giveaway. You finance the phone and receive monthly credits if you meet the trade-in and plan requirements and keep eligible service active. Taxes, fees and wireless service still cost money. Google Fi’s widely quoted $300-plus-$699 deal ended August 12, and Verizon’s current public terms are not confirmed by its launch announcement.

Current Pixel 10 Pro offers at a glance

Carrier Advertised device benefit Key conditions Costs and caveats
T-Mobile Up to $1,000 in credits over 24 months Experience Beyond, qualifying credit and trade-in; the offer page says the trade-in can be in any condition Experience Beyond is listed at $100 per month with AutoPay, before taxes and fees; tax on the pre-credit phone price and a $35 device connection charge apply. Credits can stop if service or eligibility ends.
AT&T Up to $1,050 in credits over 36 months; advertised as $0 per month after credits Eligible trade-in and qualifying unlimited plan; AT&T describes qualifying old Pixels as any year and any condition, but credit amount varies 128GB retail price is listed as $1,049.99; tax on the full retail price may be due. Actual credits depend on the trade-in and plan.
Google Fi $300 immediate discount plus $699 in 24 monthly credits in the published offer New customer, Unlimited Premium activation and minimum-service requirements The published offer expired August 12, 2026; do not count on it unless a replacement appears at checkout.
Verizon Launch material described a Pixel 10 Pro “on us” Launch announcement cited eligible trade-in and Unlimited Ultimate Those materials do not establish the exact public offer available August 16, 2026; confirm the live checkout terms.

Offer terms can change or vary by account. Before ordering, verify the exact storage model, qualifying plan, trade-in value, monthly installment and credit, credit duration, amount due today, and what happens if you change service. T-Mobile’s offer page is at T-Mobile’s Pixel phone deals; AT&T’s current listing is on its Pixel 10 Pro product page.

How a “free” phone promotion works

In a carrier promotion, you generally agree to an installment plan for the phone. The carrier then applies promotional credits to your bill over a set period. The device cost can net to $0 only if the credits add up to the eligible installment balance and you keep meeting the offer terms.

  • The service is not free. You pay the required wireless plan, plus applicable taxes and fees.
  • Upfront charges may remain. These can include sales tax on the full retail price, a connection or activation charge, a down payment, shipping, and the first service bill.
  • Credits are conditional. Cancelling the qualifying line or changing to an ineligible plan can stop future credits. The remaining device balance may then be due.
  • Credits may not start immediately. T-Mobile says to allow up to two billing cycles for its credits to appear.
  • Do not assume the phone is unlocked. A carrier-financed device is subject to that carrier’s financing and unlocking policies.

T-Mobile explicitly says credits can end if you cancel service or pay off the device early. AT&T’s offer is likewise structured as credits over a 36-month installment agreement, not an instant reduction in the amount financed. Read the exact terms for your account before accepting.

T-Mobile: 24 months of credits, with a premium plan requirement

T-Mobile’s offer page shows up to $1,000 in Pixel 10 Pro bill credits over 24 months. It ties the offer to Experience Beyond, listed at $100 per month with AutoPay before taxes and fees, and a qualifying trade-in; the page says the trade-in may be in any condition. Qualifying credit is required. Tax on the device’s pre-credit price and a $35 device connection charge are additional.

The displayed device example refers to a 128GB Pixel 10 Pro balance of $999.99, while the promotion is capped at $1,000. The exact promotion code and qualification path can vary; T-Mobile’s promotional detail page lists a Pixel promotion beginning July 2, 2026, with credits up to $41.67 per month for 24 months. Confirm the terms shown for your order rather than assuming every customer receives the maximum. See T-Mobile’s promotional offer details.

This route is most compelling if you already have, or would independently choose, the required plan and can stay for the full credit period. If you would move to a $100-per-month plan just to offset the phone, compare the extra service cost with buying the phone unlocked and keeping a cheaper plan.

AT&T: up to $1,050 over 36 months

AT&T lists the 128GB Pixel 10 Pro at $1,049.99, or $29.17 per month for 36 months before promotional credits. With an eligible trade-in and qualifying unlimited plan, the page advertises up to $1,050 in credits, making the monthly device payment $0 if you receive the maximum. AT&T says an eligible old Pixel can be any year and any condition, but the credit depends on the phone, plan and offer terms. The installment agreement is generally 36 months at 0% APR for well-qualified customers.

Taxes on the full retail price may be due at purchase, and a lower qualifying credit can leave a monthly device payment. The offer listing is at AT&T’s Pixel trade-in offer page. An August 2025 launch announcement cited a qualifying unlimited plan starting at $75.99 per month before discounts for a new single-line customer; that is historical context, not a confirmed August 2026 rate. Check current plan pricing and eligibility at checkout.

Google Fi’s commonly quoted offer has expired

Google Fi’s published promotion combined a $300 immediate discount with $699 in bill credits over 24 months, plus $10 off Unlimited Premium per month for 24 months. It required a new Fi customer, activation on Unlimited Premium within 30 days of shipment confirmation, and at least 120 consecutive days of active service in good standing. Pausing, changing or suspending the account could void the promotion.

The formal terms say the offer ended August 12, 2026, at 9:59 a.m. PDT, or while supplies lasted. The offer page may still display promotional information, so treat it as expired unless a new offer is confirmed at checkout. Check Google Fi’s formal promotion terms and its offers page.

Verizon: confirm the current offer before switching

Verizon’s Pixel 10 launch announcement described a Pixel 10 Pro “on us” with an eligible trade-in and Unlimited Ultimate, in a three-year plan context. That announcement is not proof of the precise terms available on August 16, 2026. A current secondary report describes a free-phone offer with a new line and eligible unlimited plan, but terms can differ by account and change over time. Treat the offer as unverified until Verizon’s live checkout shows your required plan, trade-in, credit schedule and amount due.

Verizon’s launch source is its Pixel 10 series availability announcement. The current secondary report is from Android Central; use it as a lead to check, not as a substitute for the carrier’s offer terms.

Total cost = plan charges + taxes and fees + device taxes and upfront charges + remaining device payments − promotional credits − trade-in value.

For example, $1,000 of credits works out to about $41.67 per month for 24 months or $27.78 per month for 36 months. Those are credit amounts, not service prices. A longer credit period lowers the monthly subsidy but keeps you tied to the offer for longer.

If you already have the qualifying plan

Estimate the incremental cost: device taxes and fees, any change in your monthly plan charge, and any value you give up by trading in your old phone, minus the credits. If you would keep the same plan anyway, the promotion may substantially reduce the phone’s cost.

If you would upgrade your plan just for the deal

Multiply the monthly plan-price increase by the full commitment period, then add upfront charges and subtract credits and trade-in value. Compare that total with buying unlocked and keeping your current or a lower-cost plan. The carrier with the largest advertised credit is not necessarily the least expensive overall.

If you leave after 12 months

Do not assume you keep the full advertised benefit. Future credits may stop, while the unpaid installment balance can become due. Your exit cost depends on the remaining balance and the exact account terms; include any balance on the phone you traded in, too.

If you want more than 128GB

Check the installment and credit separately for the storage tier you want. A promotion that fully offsets the base model may leave a balance on a higher-capacity version.

Before trading in your phone

  1. Confirm the configuration. Check model, storage, plan, customer eligibility, trade-in requirements, installment amount and credit amount at checkout.
  2. Read the exit terms. Confirm how cancellation, an early payoff or a plan change affects remaining credits and device balance.
  3. Save the offer. Keep screenshots or copies of the offer terms, order confirmation and any trade-in estimate.
  4. Document the trade-in. Record the old phone’s IMEI and condition, photograph it, and retain shipping or handoff proof. Factory-reset it only after you have recorded the details and are ready to turn it in.
  5. Check the first bills. T-Mobile says credits may take up to two billing cycles. If credits do not appear after the stated processing period, contact the carrier and verify that the line, plan and trade-in were recorded correctly.

Do not change or cancel the qualifying line while waiting for credits without first confirming the consequences with the carrier. A change to a cheaper, prepaid, data-only or otherwise ineligible plan may disqualify the promotion.

When an unlocked Pixel makes more sense

Buying unlocked can be a better fit if you want to change carriers freely, upgrade or resell soon, or use a lower-cost plan that would be lost by taking the promotion. Google distinguishes unlocked phones from carrier options on its Pixel 10 Pro product page; its carrier activation help page explains that carrier financing and trade-in offers may also be available through the Google Store. Check the final price and trade-in value at checkout. Google Store offers may have stacking restrictions; see its offer terms.

Evaluate the carrier’s coverage, data prioritization, hotspot limits and roaming for your own needs. A device credit does not compensate for service that is a poor fit.

Who should take a carrier deal?

  • It may fit you if you already use the carrier or want its plan, have a qualifying trade-in, can cover upfront charges, and expect to keep the line active throughout the credit period.
  • Think twice if you would switch to a more expensive plan solely for the phone, need immediate carrier freedom, expect to leave or upgrade early, still owe money on your current device, or cannot absorb tax and fees based on the full phone price.
