Can you buy a used car through Amazon?
Yes. Amazon announced the used- and CPO-car offering on August 4, 2025, starting with Hyundai dealer inventory in Los Angeles. Amazon’s current guide describes a broader marketplace with more than 1,000 participating dealers in more than 130 U.S. cities. Listings are localized, generally within 75 miles of a shopper’s location, so the makes and vehicles available depend on the ZIP code. Amazon’s launch announcement and its Amazon Autos consumer guide describe the rollout and current service.
The guide lists new vehicles from Hyundai, Kia, Subaru, Mazda, Chevrolet, GMC, Cadillac, Jeep, Dodge, and Ram; CPO vehicles from Hyundai and Ford Blue Advantage; and used vehicles from Hertz and hundreds of dealers. Amazon’s dealer FAQ says Hyundai, Mazda, Kia, and Subaru dealers can list new, CPO, and used vehicles nationwide, while Ford Blue Advantage dealers can list Blue, Gold, and EV certified vehicles. These are marketplace participation descriptions, not a guarantee that a particular brand or model is available near you. Amazon Autos’ dealer FAQ has additional participation details.
Amazon’s seller page says used listings must be no more than 10 years old and have no more than 100,000 miles. Those are eligibility limits for listings, not a promise about condition or a substitute for checking the specific vehicle’s details. Amazon Autos seller guidance describes the limits.

How does buying a car with Amazon Autos work?
You can browse, compare available financing, and complete much of the paperwork online, but the process ends with pickup at the dealership selling the car. Amazon says a test drive is available through the dealer before you finalize your decision. Pickup is typically within three days after an order, according to Amazon’s guide, but that timing is not guaranteed for every transaction.
- Browse local listings. Search Amazon Autos for vehicles in your area and review each listing’s price, vehicle details, history report, and stated terms.
- Choose a payment path. Select cash, lease, or financing where available. If you have a trade-in, enter its details to receive an estimate.
- Compare financing offers. Review the personalized offers and the APR, term, monthly payment, and total interest—not just the monthly amount.
- Place a deposit and complete online paperwork. Amazon’s guide says most paperwork can be handled online. Check the transaction terms before submitting payment.
- Arrange dealer pickup. Coordinate with the selling dealership, request a test drive, complete any remaining physical signatures, and inspect the car before handover.
The dealer sets the listed price, supplies the vehicle, and manages the in-person handover. Amazon says costs are itemized and that it does not charge customers a transaction fee or commission. Compare the full out-the-door amount, including applicable dealer fees and optional products, with the price and terms of other vehicles you are considering. What protections come with used and CPO cars?
Amazon states that used and CPO purchases have a minimum 3-day/300-mile return policy and a minimum 30-day/1,000-mile limited warranty. These are stated minimums; the exact listing terms, conditions, and documents for the vehicle you choose govern. Amazon’s used- and CPO-dealer guidance also calls for minimum warranty provisions including powertrain coverage, roadside assistance, towing for a covered claim, and access to licensed repair facilities. Review the listing and warranty paperwork before committing. Amazon’s consumer guide and seller guidance describe these requirements.
Ford Blue Advantage vehicles have certification-specific terms. In an announcement dated November 17, 2025, Amazon described the following program coverage and inspections. Confirm the actual vehicle’s certification tier and warranty documents, since program terms may change and the individual listing controls what applies. Amazon’s Ford Blue Advantage announcement provides the announced terms.

Amazon’s announcement also says Ford CPO vehicles sold through the marketplace come with a 14-day/1,000-mile money-back guarantee through Ford Blue Advantage. Check the applicable Ford Blue Advantage documents for the vehicle you are considering.

A lower monthly payment can result from a longer loan rather than a lower overall cost. Amazon’s guide says financing shoppers can compare APR, term, monthly payment, and total interest. An October 7, 2025 Amazon announcement named Chase, Santander, and Wells Fargo as additional lenders, but lender participation and offers depend on approval, market, vehicle, and lender. Compare the complete borrowing cost with an offer from your own bank or credit union. Amazon’s financing announcement describes those lenders and the comparison tools.

For each vehicle, compare the details that affect both price and risk:
- Complete out-the-door price, including applicable dealer fees and optional products.
- APR, loan term, monthly payment, and total interest—or lease terms if leasing.
- Age, mileage, vehicle history and condition report, and available service records.
- CPO certification tier, the written warranty, and any return conditions.
- Dealership location and the practical cost of pickup and follow-up visits.
A report included with a listing is useful, but it does not replace reading the vehicle’s condition details, asking the dealer questions, and inspecting or test-driving the car before finalizing the purchase.

What to verify before placing a deposit
- Confirm the seller’s identity and the vehicle’s availability with the listing dealership.
- Read the itemized price and identify any dealer fees or optional products.
- Check the exact financing offer and total cost, and compare it with outside financing.
- Read the specific return policy and warranty documents, including mileage limits and conditions.
- For a Ford Blue Advantage vehicle, verify the certification tier and corresponding coverage.
- Ask how pickup, test drive, remaining signatures, and any trade-in will be handled.
