X’s Premium+ price adjustment took effect for new subscribers on February 18, 2025. Existing subscribers moved to the higher rate under a separate billing transition that began after March 22, 2025. X published different web prices by country, and says iOS and Android prices can differ, so the amount to check is the checkout and renewal price on your own billing platform.
What changed—and when
X announced a price adjustment to Premium+, not a change to all three subscription tiers. The notice set February 18, 2025, as the date new subscribers would begin paying the updated price. X’s published price table also lists Basic and Premium, but the adjustment notice concerns Premium+ specifically. X’s announcement and price table.

Existing subscribers’ transition
If an existing subscriber’s next billing cycle began before March 22, 2025, X said that cycle would be charged at the current rate. The updated rate would start with the first billing cycle after March 22. The exact renewal date therefore mattered: the change did not necessarily appear on every existing subscriber’s first renewal after the announcement.
Published Premium+ web prices by country
The following are examples from X’s price table for the 2025 adjustment. They are localized web prices, not a single global rate; X says location, applicable taxes, and payment-method fees can affect the amount charged.

These are prices listed by X on its 2025 adjustment page; they should not be treated as a current quote for every account or billing platform. X’s FAQ currently lists US web starting rates of $40 per month or $395 per year for Premium+, while noting regional and tax variation. Check the checkout page and next renewal amount for your location and subscription channel. X Premium FAQ.
Why the amount can differ on web, iPhone and Android
X says prices in its iOS and Android apps differ from web prices because of app-store fees. Its FAQ advises subscribing on the web for the lowest price. The applicable comparison is the amount shown at signup and renewal for your own country, including any taxes—not a price quoted for another region or platform. X says subscriptions are available monthly or annually, so compare the total commitment and renewal amount for the interval you actually choose.

Why X said it raised Premium+ pricing
X cited three reasons for the adjustment: expanded access to Grok 3, a completely ad-free experience, and creator revenue sharing it described as fairer because it rewards quality and engagement rather than ad views. These are X’s stated rationale, not an independent measure of the value subscribers receive. In its own words, “Your subscription fuels our creator program with a fairer revenue-sharing model, rewarding quality and engagement rather than ad views.” X Help Center.
What Premium+ includes—and what “ad-free” means
X describes Premium+ as including Premium features, plus SuperGrok access, Grok Bot, the largest reply prioritization, Radar Search and Articles. The company says the experience is ad-free across most areas, but occasional sponsored content may still appear. It also cautions that features can change and may not be available on every platform or in every location. See About X Premium for X’s feature descriptions.
How to decide whether to keep, downgrade or cancel
Premium+ is most defensible for a subscriber who regularly uses the features that distinguish it from lower tiers and values them more than the localized renewal price. Before renewing, weigh these factors:

- Amazon.com Gift Cards never expire and carry no fees.
- Multiple gift card designs and denominations to choose from.
- Redeemable towards millions of items store-wide at Amazon.com or certain affiliated websites.
- Available for immediate delivery. Gift cards sent by email can be scheduled up to a year in advance.
- No returns and no refunds on Gift Cards.
- Your actual renewal charge: confirm the amount, currency, billing interval, taxes and platform shown for your account.
- Features you use: consider Grok access, reduced or removed ads, longer content, Articles, Radar Search and creator-related features rather than relying on the plan name alone.
- Lower tiers: X offers Basic, Premium and Premium+, with more features in each higher tier. Compare the features you need against the price of the tier available in your market; Premium is not available in all markets.
- Billing channel: compare web and in-app checkout prices before changing or starting a subscription.
- Monthly versus annual billing: compare the full annual charge with the monthly option and your likelihood of using the service for the year.
X’s plan and price information can change. Its pages establish the February 2025 adjustment but do not establish a later post-2025 increase; verify the current renewal amount in your account before making a decision.
