For a U.S. website built with the Wix Editor, Wix costs anywhere from $0 to $1,908 per year before taxes and add-ons. The cheapest paid option, Light, is advertised at $17 per month when billed annually, but Wix charges the full $204 upfront. Core is generally the least expensive plan that supports online payments, bookings, customer accounts, and basic commerce, at $29 per month on annual billing—or $348 upfront for the year.
Those are site-plan prices, not necessarily the total cost of running a Wix website. You may also pay for taxes, domain renewals, business email, paid apps, payment processing, and—in some cases—additional fees associated with the separate Wix Pricing Plans app.
The prices below are U.S. Wix Editor prices checked on August 10, 2026. Wix can change prices, promotions, taxes, and availability, so the logged-in checkout page is the final authority.

Wix site-plan prices at a glance
Wix’s current Editor lineup is Free, Light, Core, Business, and Business Elite. Enterprise is available on custom terms. The paid prices below show both the annual-equivalent rate and the amount Wix charges when you choose annual billing.
| Plan | Annual-equivalent price | Charged upfront annually | Monthly billing | Best for |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Free | $0 | $0 | $0 | Testing, drafts, hobbies, and temporary sites |
| Light | $17/month | $204/year | $24/month | Portfolios, blogs, and informational sites |
| Core | $29/month | $348/year | $36/month | Small businesses, bookings, and basic stores |
| Business | $39/month | $468/year | $46/month | Growing stores and service businesses |
| Business Elite | $159/month | $1,908/year | $172/month | High-volume businesses and advanced operations |
| Enterprise | Custom | Custom | Custom | Large organizations and multisite requirements |
These figures are based on Wix’s pricing page and U.S. pricing information published in its pricing guide. Displayed prices do not necessarily include applicable taxes. Wix calculates tax based on the billing address and shows it before payment is completed.
Annual billing is not a monthly $17, $29, or $39 subscription
The annual-equivalent number is a way of expressing the discount. Selecting annual billing means Wix charges the entire year at once:
| Plan | 12 months of monthly billing | Annual billing | Nominal annual saving |
|---|---|---|---|
| Light | $288 | $204 | $84 |
| Core | $432 | $348 | $84 |
| Business | $552 | $468 | $84 |
| Business Elite | $2,064 | $1,908 | $156 |
Annual billing is nominally cheaper if you keep the plan for the full year, but it requires a larger upfront payment. It also exposes you to a renewal charge later, potentially at the standard rate rather than the promotional price. Monthly billing can be the better financial choice for a seasonal project, an uncertain business, or a site you may abandon within several months.
Do these 3 things before closing this tab:
1Repair Windows errors before they cause bigger problems2Fix the driver behind crashes, sound loss and screen glitches3Clear out junk files and repair common Windows errorsAt these listed rates, annual billing becomes cheaper after roughly nine to eleven months, depending on the plan. That calculation does not account for taxes, promotions, price changes, or add-ons.
What each Wix plan actually includes
| Plan | Storage and bandwidth | Domain and branding | Commerce and payments | Collaboration and capabilities |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Free | 500 MB storage and 1 GB bandwidth | Wix URL and Wix branding | No online payments | Best for development, testing, and personal experiments |
| Light | 2 GB storage and unlimited bandwidth | Connect a custom domain and remove Wix branding | No online payments | Good for portfolios, blogs, landing pages, and informational sites |
| Core | 50 GB storage and unlimited bandwidth | Custom domain and no Wix branding | Online payments, basic eCommerce, bookings, customer accounts, and basic marketing | Up to five collaborators |
| Business | 100 GB storage and unlimited bandwidth | Custom domain and no Wix branding | Standard eCommerce and marketing tools; automated sales-tax functionality is listed with usage limits | Up to 10 collaborators |
| Business Elite | Unlimited storage and bandwidth | Custom domain and no Wix branding | Advanced eCommerce, marketing, analytics, developer, and scaling capabilities | Up to 100 collaborators |
Feature availability can depend on the site configuration and Wix’s current plan definitions. Before upgrading, compare the features shown in your account with the current Wix plan-selection guide.
Free: useful for building, not usually for a professional launch
The Free plan does not require a subscription payment, but it uses a Wix-branded URL, displays Wix branding, and has limited resources: up to 500 MB of storage and 1 GB of bandwidth. It cannot connect a custom domain or accept online payments. It is a sensible place to build a draft or test Wix, but most businesses should not treat it as their finished website plan.
See Wix’s current storage and bandwidth limits before using a free site for media-heavy content.
What’s actually slowing this PC down?
Pick the symptom - the matching free tool is one click away.
Light: the basic professional website tier
Light is usually enough for a portfolio, blog, brochure site, landing page, or service business that only needs visitors to read information or contact the owner. It connects a custom domain, removes Wix branding, provides 2 GB of storage, and lists unlimited bandwidth.
The major limitation is easy to miss: Light does not accept online payments. If you need clients to pay for appointments, products, memberships, or services through Wix, Core or a higher plan is generally required.
Core: the practical starting point for selling
Core costs $348 upfront on annual billing or $36 per month on monthly billing. It provides 50 GB of storage, up to five collaborators, online payment functionality, basic eCommerce, bookings, customer accounts, and basic marketing tools.
For many small businesses, Core is the lowest-cost Wix Editor plan that supports the required commercial functions. That does not mean every transaction is free: the site plan enables payment features, while payment processors still charge per transaction. Membership businesses should also check whether the separate Pricing Plans app creates an additional fee.

Business: more room for a growing operation
Business is $468 per year on annual billing or $46 per month on monthly billing. The upgrade from Core is $120 per year at the listed annual rates. In return, the plan lists 100 GB of storage, up to 10 collaborators, and standard marketing and eCommerce tools.
Business can be appropriate when a store, agency, or service company has outgrown Core’s storage or team limits. It is not automatically a better value simply because it is labeled Business. Upgrade when you need the additional capacity or features, rather than buying it speculatively.
Business Elite: a substantial jump for advanced scale
Business Elite costs $1,908 upfront per year or $172 per month. It has unlimited storage and bandwidth, up to 100 collaborators, and advanced business, eCommerce, marketing, analytics, developer, and scaling functionality.
At the listed annual-equivalent rates, Business Elite costs $1,440 more per year than Business. That premium is difficult to justify for a typical freelancer, local business, or small online store. Consider it only when team size, traffic, operational complexity, developer requirements, or commerce volume genuinely demands the higher tier. High-volume businesses should also compare the total against a specialized commerce or enterprise platform.
Enterprise and Wix Studio are separate decisions
Enterprise pricing is customized rather than published as a standard plan. Large organizations should request terms based on their support, security, governance, multisite, and collaboration requirements.
Also confirm which Wix product you are using. The prices above apply to sites built with the Wix Editor. Sites built with Wix Studio use separate Studio plans with different names, limits, and prices. Wix explains the distinction in its Premium plan pricing documentation.
Which Wix plan should you choose?
| Your situation | Likely starting point | Why | Watch out for |
|---|---|---|---|
| Testing a concept or building a draft | Free | No subscription cost | Wix URL, branding, limited storage and bandwidth, and no payments |
| Portfolio, blog, or brochure site | Light | Custom domain and professional presentation at the lowest paid tier | No online payments |
| Freelancer or local service business taking deposits or payments | Core | Payment capability, bookings, customer accounts, and basic commerce | Processing fees and possible app costs |
| Small online store | Core | Lowest-cost Editor tier that generally supports selling | Storage, team, app, tax, and payment requirements |
| Growing store or multi-person business | Business | More storage, collaborators, and standard commerce tools | Do not pay for unused capacity |
| Membership or subscription business | Core or Business, depending on needs | Paid plans can be sold through the Pricing Plans app | Verify current app terms and any transaction fee before committing |
| High-volume or technically demanding operation | Business Elite or Enterprise | Advanced scaling, analytics, developer functionality, and collaboration | Compare the $1,908 annual-equivalent cost with alternatives |
A useful rule is to choose the lowest tier that supports a requirement you already have. A portfolio does not need Business Elite because it may someday grow into a store. Conversely, Light is not a bargain if choosing it forces you to upgrade immediately when you start accepting payments.
The extra Wix costs that can change your real budget
These are not necessarily hidden in the sense of being undisclosed. Most are described somewhere in Wix’s documentation or checkout. They are easy to miss because they sit outside the headline site-plan price.
1. Taxes
The plan card is not an all-in price for every U.S. customer. Applicable taxes depend on the billing address and are calculated at checkout. Always compare the final amount—not just the advertised annual-equivalent rate—before submitting payment.
2. Domain registration and renewal
Some qualifying annual or multi-year site plans include a one-year domain voucher. It generally applies only to a qualifying new domain. It does not retroactively reimburse a domain you already purchased, renew an existing domain, pay for additional registration years, or permanently make the domain free.
The voucher must be redeemed within 60 days of purchasing the eligible plan. The renewal price later depends on the domain extension, registration period, privacy selection, local currency, and applicable taxes. Check the exact amount in Premium Subscriptions → View payment details before buying or redeeming the voucher. Wix publishes more detail in its guide to the price of domain renewals.
Private registration and DNSSEC may also cost extra, and availability varies by top-level domain. Not every extension supports private registration. Wix says DNSSEC with private registration is available in non-EU countries and for .com domains, subject to its domain rules; check the domain privacy documentation for your specific extension.

One free scan finds every outdated or missing driver and matches the right update for your exact hardware.Free scan · exact hardware matchYou do not have to buy the domain from Wix. You can connect a domain registered elsewhere, so compare renewal prices and management features before transferring it.
3. Business email
A normal Wix site plan does not automatically include a professional mailbox such as [email protected]. Wix sells Google Workspace business email separately, with Business Starter, Business Standard, and Business Plus options.
Your domain must already be owned and connected before buying the mailbox. Wix does not publish one universal email price because the amount depends on the Workspace plan, billing cycle, region, and number of mailboxes. Treat third-party claims about a fixed per-user price as estimates, not a guaranteed current Wix charge; check the email checkout inside your account. See Wix’s business email setup page.
4. Paid apps
The Wix App Market contains tools for forms, marketing, bookings, analytics, sales, and other functions. An app can have its own monthly, annual, or one-time charge in addition to the site plan. An app being compatible with your plan—or free to install—does not mean every feature or service is free.

To review or cancel one, open Premium Subscriptions → More Actions → Cancel App → Cancel auto renew. Deleting the app from the site is not necessarily the same as canceling its subscription, so verify that auto-renewal is actually off. Wix documents the process in Canceling an app subscription.
5. Payment-processing fees
Online selling creates a variable cost that is separate from the Wix subscription. For U.S. Wix Payments transactions, the currently published rates include:
| Payment type | Published fee |
|---|---|
| Visa, Mastercard, Discover, and other non-Amex cards | 2.9% + $0.30 |
| American Express | 3.7% + $0.30 |
| PayPal through Wix Payments | 3.49% + $0.49 |
| Pay Later | 4.99% + $0.49 |
| Afterpay, Affirm, and Klarna | 6% + $0.30 |
| Cross-border payment | Additional 1.5% where applicable |
| Multi-currency transaction | Additional 1% currency-conversion fee, plus processing and any applicable cross-border fee |
| Chargeback | $15 Wix Payments fee; PayPal chargebacks through Wix Payments can be $20 |
For example, on a $100 transaction, the standard card fee at 2.9% + $0.30 is $3.20, while the Amex fee is $4.00. PayPal at 3.49% + $0.49 would be $3.98, and a $100 Pay Later transaction at 4.99% + $0.49 would be $5.48. These examples exclude any applicable cross-border or currency-conversion fee.
Wix says the original Wix Payments processing fee is not returned when you issue a refund. Payment processing is a cost of selling; it is not a charge merely for having a Wix website. Review the current Wix Payments fee schedule before forecasting store margins.
6. A verification warning for the Pricing Plans app
7. More than one website means more than one site plan
A Wix Premium site plan applies to one site, not to every site in your account. If you operate three separate sites, you generally need three separate site-plan subscriptions, each with its own renewal and add-on costs.

8. Native mobile-app costs
If you publish a native mobile app through Wix, the website plan does not cover everything. Wix requires a separate Mobile App Premium plan. Apple and Google developer-account fees are also separate. Wix lists Apple’s developer fee as starting at $99 per year and Google Play’s as a $25 one-time fee, subject to the app stores’ current terms. See the Wix Mobile App Premium plan documentation.
Illustrative first-year and recurring-cost examples
The following examples use the published U.S. site-plan rates above. They are budgeting frameworks, not all-in quotes, because taxes, domains, email, apps, and transaction volume vary by account and checkout.
Example 1: A simple portfolio
First year: Light costs $204 when billed annually, plus applicable tax and any optional email or paid apps. If the customer buys a qualifying annual plan and redeems the voucher within 60 days for a qualifying new domain, the first-year domain registration may be covered by the voucher. Privacy or other domain options may still affect the checkout total.
Later years: Budget for the Light renewal price then in effect, applicable tax, domain renewal, email, and apps. The first-year domain voucher does not cover future domain renewals.
Recommended Free Tools
Example 2: A small store or paid booking site
First year: Core costs $348 annually, before tax and add-ons. Add email if you need a professional mailbox, app subscriptions if you use them, and variable payment-processing costs on each sale.
As an illustration, 100 standard-card orders of $100 each produce $10,000 in sales. At 2.9% + $0.30 per transaction, the processing cost would be $320 before any other applicable fees. The Wix site plan remains $348; processing is a separate variable expense.
Later years: Add the Core renewal price then in effect, domain renewal, email, apps, taxes, and processing. If the store uses Pay Later, BNPL, international payments, or multiple currencies, model those methods separately because their rates differ.
Example 3: A growing store with a team
First year: Business costs $468 upfront, or $120 more than Core at the listed annual rates. The upgrade may make sense for 100 GB of storage, up to 10 collaborators, and standard commerce or marketing tools.
What’s actually slowing this PC down?
Pick the symptom - the matching free tool is one click away.
Decision test: If the business does not need the additional storage, collaborators, or tools, the $120 difference is avoidable. If it does need them, compare that fixed cost with the operational cost of workarounds, extra apps, or a forced midyear upgrade.
Example 4: A membership or subscription business
First year: Start with Core at $348 or Business at $468, depending on the site’s storage, team, and commerce needs. Then add taxes, domain and email costs, payment processing, and any current Pricing Plans app transaction charge confirmed for your account.
Recurring-plan businesses should also plan for payment failures and provider changes. Wix says a recurring plan can be canceled when a customer’s payment is not received, requiring the customer to update payment details and purchase again. Wix also says active recurring plans must be canceled before changing payment providers, after which customers may need to repurchase. See the documentation for recurring Pricing Plans and Pricing Plans payment setup.
Example 5: Three separate sites
Three Core sites would cost $1,044 per year at the listed annual rate—three times $348—before taxes, domains, email, apps, and payment fees. One plan cannot ordinarily be spread across three sites. Confirm the site name during checkout so you do not accidentally upgrade the wrong site.

How to save money on Wix
- Build on Free first. Keep the site in draft form until the structure, copy, and design are ready. Upgrade only when you need a custom domain, branding removal, or payment features.
- Buy the lowest functional tier. Light is usually enough for an informational site. Core is generally the starting point for payments, bookings, customer accounts, or a basic store. Avoid Business Elite unless its advanced capacity is genuinely required.
- Compare commitment risk with the annual discount. Light, Core, and Business each save $84 at the listed annual rates; Business Elite saves $156. The saving is real only if you keep the plan long enough and can afford the upfront charge.
- Use the domain voucher correctly. Choose an eligible annual or multi-year plan, redeem the voucher within 60 days, and use it for a qualifying new domain. It cannot be applied retroactively or used to renew an existing domain.
- Check the future domain price. Before calling a domain free, inspect its later renewal amount and any privacy, security, registration-period, or tax charges.
- Compare independent domain registrars. Wix lets you connect a domain you already own. Keeping registration separate may provide a lower renewal price or better domain-management features, although it adds another account to manage.
- Audit paid apps. Review every app under Premium Subscriptions. Cancel unused app auto-renewals separately; removing an app from the site may not cancel its subscription.
- Use the 14-day refund policy as a test period, not as a free trial. Wix says it does not offer a traditional Premium-plan free trial. New Premium and Studio plan purchases are generally eligible for a 14-day refund, but the policy does not apply to renewals or upgrades of an existing plan.
- Turn off auto-renewal as soon as you decide not to continue. After the first 14 days, cancellation generally stops the next renewal while leaving the paid plan active until its expiration date. Cancellation during the refund window deactivates paid features immediately.
- Check the final checkout total. Review taxes, the billing cycle, domain options, email, app selections, and any other add-ons before payment.
- Model payment fees separately. For a store, calculate processing by payment method, order value, order count, international exposure, refunds, and chargebacks. A low site-plan fee does not guarantee low total selling costs.
- Verify Pricing Plans app charges. If you sell memberships or subscriptions, check current app terms, your account notice, and settlement reports. Do not base a multi-year forecast on an unverified public fee report.
- Look for eligible app promotions, but record the end date. Wix may offer selected third-party apps free for one year with an eligible annual plan. Redemption deadlines and eligibility rules apply, and the app may charge after the promotional period.
Wix’s free Premium apps promotion guidance is the place to verify whether an offer applies to your site.
How to avoid Wix renewal surprises
Wix site plans, domains, business email, and third-party apps are separate subscriptions. Wix may combine several of them into one charge, so a larger-than-expected transaction is not necessarily a site-plan price increase. Inspect the invoice and payment details before disputing or assuming the charge is wrong.
Wix’s documented billing timing is:
- Monthly site plans: charged on the expiration date.
- Yearly and multi-year site plans: may be charged up to three weeks before expiration.
- Domains: may be charged 30 days before expiration.
- Business email: may be charged 30 days before expiration.
- Third-party apps: charged on their expiration date.
Discounted purchases renew at the standard rate rather than the promotional rate. Review Wix billing information and the renewal details in your account instead of assuming the introductory price will continue.
Pre-purchase checklist
- Open Wix’s pricing page while logged into the correct account.
- Confirm whether the site uses Wix Editor or Wix Studio.
- Select monthly or annual billing deliberately.
- Record the first-year total, renewal date, and any renewal price shown.
- Check taxes based on the billing address.
- Review domain registration, renewal, privacy, and DNSSEC costs.
- Confirm whether the plan includes a domain voucher and whether your intended domain qualifies.
- Check email, app, and mobile-app add-ons separately.
- Save the receipt and plan details.
Post-purchase checklist
- Open Premium Subscriptions.
- Review the Upcoming payment column.
- Open View payment details for the site plan and domain.
- Review separate entries for apps and business email.
- Turn off auto-renewal for anything you do not want to keep.
- Put a calendar reminder at least 45 days before renewal. That gives you time to act even though annual site-plan charges may occur up to three weeks early and domain or email charges may occur 30 days early.
Common Wix pricing and billing problems
- I upgraded the wrong site.
- Plans apply to individual sites, so verify the site name before payment. Wix says plans can be reassigned in some situations, but do not assume a mistaken purchase will automatically move to the intended site.
- I expected Light to accept payments.
- Light does not support online payments. Core or higher is generally required for payment functionality.
- The domain voucher is missing.
- Common explanations include buying monthly, choosing an ineligible plan, purchasing the domain before the plan, or trying to apply the voucher to a renewal. Check the plan terms and the voucher redemption window.
- The site still works after I canceled.
- After the refund window, cancellation normally stops renewal but leaves the paid plan active until the end of its current term. That is expected. During the 14-day refund window, paid features are deactivated immediately when the refund cancellation is processed.
- The custom domain suddenly disappeared.
- When the paid plan expires or is deactivated, the site can revert to its Wix URL and display Wix branding.
- Wix charged more than the plan price.
- Check whether the charge combined the site plan with a domain, email subscription, or app. Review invoices and the Premium Subscriptions page.
- A recurring membership payment failed.
- Wix may cancel the customer’s plan when payment is not received. The customer may need to update payment details and purchase again.
- I want to change the payment provider for recurring plans.
- Active recurring Pricing Plans subscriptions must be canceled before changing providers, and customers may need to repurchase afterward.
Bottom line: the Wix price most people should budget
Use Free to test Wix, Light for a basic professional website, Core as the usual starting point for payments or bookings, and Business for a growing store or team. Business Elite is a specialist plan for advanced scale—not a default upgrade for a small business.
For a realistic budget, start with the annual site-plan cost, then add taxes, domain renewal, email, apps, and payment-processing costs. If you sell memberships or subscriptions, verify the current Pricing Plans app terms directly in your account before forecasting fees. The most important number is not the promotional monthly equivalent on the plan card; it is the total you will pay at checkout and at renewal.
Frequently Asked Questions
Is Wix really free in 2026?
Yes, Wix offers a Free tier with no subscription payment. However, free sites use a Wix-branded URL, display Wix branding, have up to 500 MB of storage and 1 GB of bandwidth, cannot connect a custom domain, and cannot accept online payments.
Which Wix plan is the cheapest one that accepts payments?
Core is generally the lowest Wix Editor plan that supports online payments, bookings, customer accounts, and basic commerce. Light supports a custom domain and removes Wix branding, but it does not accept online payments.
Does a Wix site plan include a domain or professional email?
A qualifying annual or multi-year plan may include a one-year voucher for a qualifying new domain, but the voucher does not cover later renewals or an existing domain. Professional Google Workspace email is separate from the ordinary site plan.
Are Wix Pricing Plans app fees the same as Wix Payments fees?
No. Wix Payments charges fees for processing transactions, while the Pricing Plans app is used to sell memberships, packages, and subscriptions. Public 2026 reports allege an additional plan-dependent Pricing Plans app fee, but the schedule was not independently verified in a publicly indexed official Wix fee page. Check the app’s current terms, your account notice, settlement reports, and written confirmation from Wix.
What happens when I cancel a Wix annual plan?
If you cancel after the 14-day refund period, Wix generally turns off renewal while leaving the paid features active until the current term ends. If you cancel within the new-plan refund window, paid features are deactivated immediately. Renewals and upgrades are excluded from the standard 14-day refund policy.
The Bottom Line
Best value for a basic professional site: Light. Best starting point for payments or bookings: Core. Best for a growing commerce operation: Business. Best only for advanced scale: Business Elite. Cheapest way to test Wix: Free.
Budget for the renewal price and separate services—not just the advertised first-year plan rate.
