Wilson Odobert is no longer a Burnley player. Tottenham Hotspur signed him from Burnley in August 2024, so the question of what he earned at Burnley is now a historical one. The public figures for that period are estimates from football salary databases, and they disagree. For the 2023–24 season, one source lists £10,000 per week and another lists £16,000 per week. Neither is an official disclosure, and no verified Burnley wage has been published in the sources reviewed. The most defensible answer is that his Burnley pay is estimated at between £10,000 and £16,000 per week.
Odobert’s move from Burnley to Tottenham
The premise of the original question needs updating first. Odobert joined Burnley from Troyes in August 2023. BBC reported that he joined Tottenham the following August, on a deal running until 2029, for a fee in the region of £25 million. His final Burnley appearance was the club’s Championship opener at Luton, where he scored in a 4–1 win. The Football Association’s agent-transactions record confirms a permanent transfer into Burnley for a Wilson Serge Eric Odobert, but it does not contain any wage information.
What the Burnley estimates say
Two widely cited salary databases list figures for Odobert’s time at Burnley, both for the 2023–24 season. They are shown below as published, with the labels each publisher applies.
| Publisher | Season and club | Weekly figure | Annual figure | How the publisher labels it |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| FBref | 2023–24, Burnley | £10,000 | £520,000 | Labelled “Unverified estimation” |
| SalarySport | 2023–24, Burnley | £16,000 | £832,000 | Listed as a database figure; not an official disclosure |
The two numbers differ by £6,000 per week, or £312,000 per year. Neither source explains how it reached its figure in a way that would let a reader check it. Because both are estimates for the same season, the gap cannot be resolved from the available evidence, and the two numbers should not be averaged into a single figure.

Why neither figure is confirmed
Football wages in England are private contract terms. Clubs do not routinely publish individual salaries, and the Football Association’s transaction records show when a player is registered but not what he is paid. Database figures are typically built from press reports, agent information or other indirect sources. That is why the FBref entry carries an explicit “unverified” label and why SalarySport’s number should be read as one estimate among several rather than a confirmed fact.
No attributable statement from Odobert, Burnley or Tottenham about his salary was found in the sources reviewed, so there is no quotation to rely on.

The Tottenham comparison
Capology’s profile for Odobert at Tottenham estimates gross fixed pay of £40,000 per week, or £2,080,000 for the 2026–27 season, excluding bonuses. The profile gives the contract expiry as 30 June 2029. This figure describes his current club, not Burnley, and Capology states that its salary numbers are estimates rather than official figures. It is useful only as a separate reference point for how the market values him after his move.
The Ipswich Town link
Ipswich interest in Odobert was reported on 7 August 2024, when Ipswich had just returned to the Premier League and were looking for attacking options. TEAMtalk described it as interest, not a confirmed bid, and the report was published while Odobert was still a Burnley player. Nothing in the sources reviewed shows that Ipswich are currently pursuing him. The Premier League’s summer transfer watch published on 1 September 2026 lists Ipswich’s announced signings and does not mention Odobert.

Burnley performance context
Performance figures are often confused with pay, so it helps to keep them apart. BBC reported 34 appearances and five goals for Burnley in all competitions before his move to Tottenham. TEAMtalk reported 29 Premier League appearances, three goals and three assists in 2023–24. These figures measure different scopes and should not be combined or compared directly with each other.

- Check the season. A figure for 2023–24 says nothing about the contract he signed later, and a 2026–27 figure says nothing about Burnley.
- Check the label. Look for words such as “estimate”, “unverified” or “not official”, as used by FBref and Capology.
- Check whether it is weekly or annual. Multiply weekly figures by 52 only when the source does not already state the annual amount.
- Check whether bonuses are included. Capology’s Tottenham figure excludes bonuses.
- Compare sources before choosing one. When databases disagree, the gap itself is the honest finding.
Salary databases are useful for rough scale, but they should not be read as payslips. Anyone repeating a figure should name the publisher and season alongside it.
