The highest reported figure tied to a car associated with will.i.am is $900,000 for the custom 1958 Volkswagen Beetle, according to a 2013 Jalopnik report. That was described as a build cost, not a current appraisal. Jalopnik also reported that will.i.am put a $700,000 value on a custom DeLorean. Neither figure establishes what either car is worth today, and available sources do not verify a definitive list of eight cars in his garage.
Why an exact top-eight ranking isn’t supported
Lists of will.i.am’s cars differ, and the available coverage does not establish an independently appraised ranking or a confirmed current count of eight vehicles. A 2024 collection roundup, for example, says nine cars. Other roundups give different mixes. That makes a precise “eight most expensive” list misleading: the vehicles and figures are not verified on a consistent basis.
There is also an important money distinction. A reported custom-build cost is not necessarily a sale price or present-day market value. A person’s reported estimate of a car’s worth is not an independent appraisal. And a production model’s original price would not establish the value of a modified one-off today.
The two cars with reported dollar figures
| Vehicle | What the figure represents | Evidence and date |
|---|---|---|
| Custom 1958 Volkswagen Beetle | $900,000, reported as the cost of the extensive custom build—not a current valuation. | Jalopnik, February 2013. Its report said the project began in 2009 and was not yet finished at the time. |
| Custom DeLorean DMC-12 | $700,000, reported as a value will.i.am had described—not a confirmed transaction or current appraisal. | Jalopnik, 2013. The report clarified that the car was a DeLorean, rather than a vehicle built from scratch. |
These figures are not directly comparable measures of market value: one is a reported build-cost figure and the other a reported value claim. Neither source establishes what the cars would sell for now.

The Flip: a documented one-off, with no reliable price stated
Mercedes-Benz describes The Flip as a one-off project developed with will.i.am, based on an extensively modified Mercedes-AMG GT 4-Door Coupe. The company announced it in 2022 in connection with a STEAM-education mission. Its official announcement does not provide a reliable value for the finished vehicle, so a price should not be inferred from the base production model.
Other vehicles reported in his collection
Mercedes-AMG GT C and G 63
A Mercedes-Benz profile reported a GT C and a G 63 in will.i.am’s collection when that profile was published. This is dated reporting, not confirmation that he still owns either vehicle.

Cars named in collection roundups
Secondary roundups also mention vehicles such as a Bentley Continental GT, McLaren MP4-12C, Tesla models, a Corvette and a Lexus. Because the lists vary and the available reporting does not independently corroborate a stable, complete inventory, these mentions are not enough to rank eight cars by price or establish present ownership.

In a 2013 Guardian Q&A, will.i.am said, “I spend money on things to make – such as the car I made.” That remark fits the distinction between a heavily customized project and an ordinary production car, but it does not verify a particular vehicle’s cost or current value.
