Because Mullally’s amount combines her wealth with Offerman’s, it is not directly comparable with Messing’s individual estimate. The tie reflects the same reported dollar amount, not equivalent measurement of personal wealth. Just Jared identifies these four as the series regulars while noting the show also featured notable guest performers; this ranking does not establish where those additional actors would place.
Why celebrity net-worth rankings are estimates, not statements of fact
Net worth means assets minus liabilities, but outsiders generally do not have access to an actor’s complete financial records. Public estimates may draw on reported earnings and career information, yet the Just Jared figures do not provide a transparent audit method. They should therefore be read as that publication’s estimates, not as confirmed totals or a precise comparison of the actors’ finances.

Rankings can also vary because outlets may use different methods, dates, and people in their lists. A dollar amount associated with a couple cannot be treated as one person’s wealth, and estimated net worth is not the same measure as salary, royalties, residuals, or annual income.
What historical salary reporting says
Net-worth estimates should not be confused with what the actors were paid for a particular season. In April 2005, The Advocate reported that each of the four leads would receive between $13 million and $15 million for the 2005–2006 season—about $600,000 per episode. The report attributed the deal terms to sources; NBC declined to comment, and actor representatives did not comment or were unavailable. The article said the new deals brought Hayes and Mullally to paycheck parity with Messing and McCormack.
A separate Celebrity Net Worth profile, updated May 12, 2026, estimates Messing’s net worth at $25 million and says her peak base salary was $250,000 per episode, excluding royalties. Its McCormack profile gives a $20 million net-worth estimate and likewise reports a $250,000-per-episode base salary at the show’s height, excluding backend royalties and residuals. Those profile figures are secondary estimates and are distinct from the season-specific 2005 salary report; the available figures do not explain how their differing per-episode amounts reconcile.
Where the ranking leaves the cast
On Just Jared’s February 2025 estimates, Hayes is listed highest and McCormack lowest among the four regulars. Messing’s individual estimate matches the amount Just Jared reports for Mullally and Offerman together, so the figures support a qualified ranking by reported amount—not a definitive comparison of each actor’s personal wealth.
